Here's a tip for everyone.

Goodbye MrScott
John
I keep opening this thread thinking I'm going to win a wristwatch on New Year Day or something.
eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!
Ride on, MrScott!
Maybe I should change the title to "2007 HalloWeekends Watch," but then you might expect a wristwatch with a pumpkin face. :)
Ooooh ooooooh, or one with a witch on the face that cackles on the hour!
That'd be the best

I get it now!
That hole in the ground in the picture was so they could bury all the old Geauga Lake merchandise!
:)
I know where I'm going treasure hunting next summer on my days off!

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I know this is going to sound crazy, and many of you may not believe me, but I want to tell of what I saw the other day.
I travel throughout Northern Ohio everyday for my job. Most of my traveling is on Rt. 80/toll road. I was heading home from Toledo when I saw a flatbed carrying what looked to be supports identical to the large supports for the base of TTD. There were six yellow supports on the flatbed. The truck was getting off at Rt. 250 exit 118. The link below shows the supports for TTD which looked identical to the ones on the flatbed..

Now I am not one to jump to conclusions, and I still won't, but I am just mentioning what I saw. I tried taking pictures on my camera phone, but the truck was already exiting.
Many of you know roller coasters a lot better than I do... Can supports that look like this be used for structures other than roller coasters? Maybe some of the indoor waterparks being constructed in the area?
I think it might be the supports for the roller coasters at geauga lake. Im not 100% sure though.
Bring back Boblo!
Well, lets see, It could be:
Thunderhawk from Geauga Lake getting a break at Cedar Point on the way to Michigan's Adventure.
A structural colomn for Kalahari, or the other water parks (maybe even additions to Soak City).
Or supports for a new coaster at Cedar Point. But if this is the case, I really don't know why Cedar Point loves red and yellow so much.

Or something not even close to being related.

At least twice a year I see structure for the Wind turbines. They are huge and could possibly be mistaken for roller coaster structure. I have some pics somewhere. I'll try to find them and post later.

Actually I saw wind turbine "blades" and what looked like the hub going south on 71 last Saturday. I was amazed at how huge the pieces were.
As I look over these threads, I currently feel that some scenery/theming and stuff could use an upgrade. When I went to Cedar Point late last July, my family noticed theat the CP/LE RR station bricks were deteriorating. I also noticed numerous lights were out on the Giant Wheel and the Matter rn ride.
Another thing I noticed was that the queueing lines for Raptor no longer have those covers with the ceiling fans on them, leaving a huge portion of the queueing line out in the sun. Yes, somebody did pass out while waiting in line there.
Cedar Point could use some additional shade areas and also various areas with water misting out.
If I recall, Raptor never had shade structures in the portion of the queue that is out in the sun. I always have thought that is one of the most uncomfortable lines to wait in (luckily the line doesn't require waiting much anymore)

I guess it's always worth mentioning;
I would gladly go two or more years with no new rides at Cedar Point just to have them put some real money into some beautification projects around the park. To name a few:
1) The entrance could use a more "grand" appeal; especially upon entering the park. To your right you have Demon Drop and a bathroom that looks like it's ripped out of 1973. To your left you have a hodge-podge collection of buildings that individually look OK, but dont consistently go together.
Seriously, some architectual consistency would be a blessing.
2) For the love of god and everything holy, will you PLEASE clean up the mess of the pirate ride that is STILL sitting there after over a decade? I'll donate a sheet to drape over the building if need be.
3) Dont leave Halloweekends decorations around all season. Last year there was a fake-golden boar's head in front of the Sky Ride all year.
Tacky.
4) Some new fountains would be nice. I enjoy the "globe" fountain as much as anyone, but come on: It's time for an upgrade!
What I'm getting at here is what they did to the games section. That looks incredible! And from what I hear, it wasn't that big of an investment (compared to a ride), yet it changed the entire feel of the area.
There's my two cents for 2008 and beyond.

Promoter of fog.
I agree with KevinJ. The Pirate Ride building is such an eyesore, and the Blue Streak Midway is a ghost town. They have the perfect opportunity now though...tear down the building and put the Texas Twister there with some fountains. Maybe they can squeeze Time Warp in as well on the opposite side (by Raptor's brake run).
My number one wish is to bring some modern slides to Soak City. Being it is an additional charge, I expect this water park to be an elite one...and it is no longer that.
Ya, the front of the park should be a little more appealing. That one sign that is about a mile away from the park is really the only thing to attract people into the park. Cedar Point has a great location and when you look at it from the mainland it looks absolutely fantastic. But the little things could be fixed inside the park. For instance, put one of those digital signs or something in front of the park to attract people. Now THAT would look cool.
