2008 Watch

Considering some of the lethal summers that we are beginning to have (is it the new status quo, or is it a trend with global climate swaying) it wouldn't surprise me if it is shading for ...... put your own guess in. Temps have hit 80 degrees or more so often this summer in Sandusky. Maverick has one of the nicest lines in my opinion because of the shade provided by the trees. Some lines are brutal with the sun beating on you.

If you look at the metal it is the same color that queues are made out of.

It is definitely covering for something...look at the relation to the size of the tractor / vehicles and the metal arches. The arches are 20 feet or taller it seems. Very large..

The slab the metal is sitting on looks new. So, I'm sure whatever the structure is for, goes right there - not somewhere else. Plus, that area is currently "backstage".

It certainly looks like a long storage building that provides quick, easy access to the park, and vice versa. And, given that there's something new for Halloweekends this year...

Its for halloweekends. Nothing else.

If there was anything for 2008 it would be under the blue tarp under Maggies Pretzel. Thats my best guess.

Well, it did just appear about 2 weeks ago... ;)

they keep tearing down rides at geauga lake maybe they will put them at cp

So, pretty much this area is next to TTD? What room is there?

The area is NOT next to TTD. At least the area with the new "structure". It's between MS and Gemini - next to the planning and design building.

That framing will actually be wrapped in latex and used to "enhance" the sensations of Dragster.

It's funny you mention that. It's piles of wood. I noticed it this weekend while riding Maggie, but I thought it was just the wood that has always sat under Gemini. But I don't remember seeing it there before...

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

I say that the park should plan on adding for 2008, that refurbished magnum entrance with the water that sprayed out at people that everyone on these threads got such a big kick out of. I think it was mentioned a few months back or so, but it was a rather interesting idea for the park, by the way.

All I say is to move the Space Spiral between the Carousel and the Sky Ride then take out the Demon Drop. they can take the food and drinks and some buildings out of that area, and move the trokia another place. They will have some land to make a Coaster right around there area to some of the parking lot and over the fence to the beach back around by the DT. That would be my best thought of a Coaster.

I would Demoish the DT for more area too, but many people don't want too.

a) Moving Space Spiral would probably be the hardest thing in the park to relocate. Isn't its foundation down to the bedrock?

b) Why would you move Space Spiral? It takes up no space.

On a more positive note though, Space Spiral would kind of look cool right in the middle of the Main Midway, not that I want it to be moved there though.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

If they did that were would they put the Big Dipper from GL at? Sorry I was being sarcastic.

I think building something..anything towards WT and Maxair would be a good idea.

I agree, but we did get a new web cam so I feel spoiled already.

Tickled silly.

I agree with the idea of moving the space spiral. Move it to the center of the park for a better view of everything instead of 1/2 of the spin seeing the parking lot. It's foundation is in bedrock. The actual ride itself is secured to the foundation.

Blue people fly sideways when it rains

So build a new foundation and relocate the ride? If this did happen, I would vote for the the neon lights and Red, White and Blue scheme to make a return.

I agree that the Space Spiral would be nice if it was central to look over the park from the center.

But heck the thing needs air conditoning in its current spot before we start looking for location location location.
