That makes no sense whatsoever. Adding the walkway doesn't save them any money and it causes people to walk way out of their way to go 10 feet.
Goodbye MrScott

Well it does save some money because if they take out one railroad cross walk an employee would not have to man it and it could be removed. Also it would dump people out at mean streak which might help ridership at that ride, a lot of people do not even know how to get back there. It was just a thought, none of us really know what they are doing in that area. We are all just guessing right now. At least I didn't say they were adding a old six flags ride or moving a coaster from GL or something totally stupid like some things have been said at least mine is possible. *** Edited 8/28/2007 11:05:46 PM UTC by coasterxtreme72***
So the cost of re-routing a midway and a train stop, as well as inconveniencing people is worth 7.95/hr that will be saved by not having 1 employee?
Goodbye MrScott
John
How about a new Frontier lift, so you can ride back there and not half to do all that walking:)
I would also like to see a couple old traditional flat rides like the calypso, since cedar point is such an old historic amusement park, I'd wouldn't mind seeing a couple more classic rides, and it would be a couple more things more someone like my parents who are passed the thrill seeking days.
I guess you just don't understand....How are you rerouting a train stop you are just stopping people from crossing at that spot, and rerouting people in front of a new flat ride in the field next the Gemini and dump them 5 more feet in the Mean Streak Plaza. I think for business it makes great since, It sends everyone to the back where there are stores and food for people to spend more money, which would increase capital spending. So I guess we will have to agree to disagree. *** Edited 8/28/2007 11:21:16 PM UTC by coasterxtreme72***
Or everyone who is back at Maverick and wants to ride the big wooden one must now walk all the way back up to Gemini so they can back track to within 10 feet of where they were.
Plus there is all of Boneville back there and you are only saving 7.95 an hour.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Apparently no one realizes that there are behind-the-scenes areas behind the fences. The buildings in Frontiertown aren't themed on the other side.

When I saw the post on the Blog I had a spark of excitement, but when I saw the area while riding Mean Streak that excitement went away. It doesn't look at all like an area where a ride would be added.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
All I say is not to put in the Deji vu in cedar point from six flags.
A better one is a "flying coaster" for me and many others that I've talked to waiting in line for another coaster during this yr, and all around the park, and a few employees too.
That is my thought.
It doesn't look at all like an area where a ride would be added.
Thats because the post was showing you the construction vehicles and not the "spot".
IMO.
Promoter of fog.
They're not redoing a walkway, that place back there is a main vein for bringing trucks in with food throughout the day and other merchandise, so keep dreaming on that. And if Deja Vu went anywhere it would be to a scrap yard where it belongs. And the frontier lift, I doubt that because they have a train going back. You can get to the front of the park to the back by walking maybe 500 feet...from the entrance to the sky ride....sky ride to the train. And walking is good for you anyways. What they should do...which is probally a long shot...make Soak City part of Cedar Point...and if they were to put a coaster in someplace, make the station in Soak City and weave the ride in and out Magnum over in that area and have some type of splash area in the ride where the train goes through water to keep the water theme going. I'd even like to see them bring in a water ride to the park.
11 years.
^^That may be so, but there is some construction going on back there. It looks like some minor land clearing, not anything that may indicate a ride.

I like how everyone assumes that land clearing equals a new ride. Buildings, parking lots, and probably even underground utility work all require land clearing.
Kinzel himself said in a newspaper article that there would not be a new ride in 2008. Let's stop the conspiracy theories.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Maverick seems to be a huge investment, but I wouldn't expect a roller coaster this upcoming season. I was shocked to see Top Thrill Dragster in 2003. I'm hoping that there is a ride though, a thrill ride, continuing with Huss Rides. Something that loads quicker than SkyHawk hopefully, as great as it is.
But I want to continue to be thrilled with a new non-rollercoaster ride, but I definitely sense some investment around lackadaisical nature of Frontiertown (besides Halloweekends) and failure to attract foot traffic around Macaroni's/old Bernstein Bears with Chaos/Maxair/Wicked Twister. But I must admit, Ocean Motion almost did it.
Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!
The newest RUMOR on screamscape is the constuction site is located behind TTD. They say you can see it from PWE. to me it doen't seem like enough room.
From screamscape:
2008 - New Attraction - Rumor - (8/30/07) A reader tells us that the current construction site within the park is actually located near Top Thrill Dragster, in an open area to the right as you make your first left turn in Dragster’s queue. You can also see the site from the park’s Paddlewheel Excursion.
