2008 New Employees

Dang, you must have worked a lot. the most hours I had in two week was 120, and I thought that was a lot. It was hard for me to get alot of hours on my ride so I always had to go to park op in the morning for extra hours.
Oh and by the way I will be receiving my bonus check after they said I voided my contract. They had to look back at the time sheets to find out if I worked on my last day, which I did so I will be receiving my bonus check in a few weeks.

Haha. I'll take whatever hours I can get.

And $6.85 isn't bad, considering that here in Indiana, the minimum wage is only $6.15. It was $5.15 up until July lol. Pathetic.

But yeah, I can't wait.

This summer is going to ROCK Working at Americas Roller Coast, CEDAR POINT! WOOOOOOOO!

I remember one paycheck i had 157 hours. The thing is working at cedar point the time passes faster than anywhere else. on millennium at the end of the season we would be clearing trains so fast that noone wanted to rotate cause we felt like we just got to our spot.

It also depends on the ride you're on. The hours I got on Maverick were far more than Corkscrew due to the ride opening much earlier and closed later as well.

The people that worked on Maverick were always at work, they would come in early and leave late, they always looked tired, but they did have good checks and no time to spend it.

Walk back to the parking lot is a lot longer after 14 hours of work.

Times like those you sometimes wish there was a tram car for those of us who work in the back of the park haha.

One of the things i hated was, I would get to my truck and start to drive back to my apartmant and then i would realize that i had not eaten food in like 2 days and then i would have to go get something. that cuts into your sleep time. thats ok, dose anyone here remember the night i made pasta for everyone and we got totally sma...........

Are we getting a lower bonus this year? Rumor has it the bonus is only going to be .35 per hour. If that's true I'm not so sure that I will be going back.

The pay scales for 2008 have not been announced.

if its only .35, no one will stay to the end, they had a BIG problem this year keeping people.
I heared a different rumor right before I left from management, but I diddn't beleive it.

I heard many rumbles over the season about pay changes, but who knows. They need some kind of incentive for they can get more return employees year after year.

If they cut the bonus again, they'll really be in trouble. Not only will they lose people who were going to return, but they'll lose even more people than last year halfway through the season. If they thought 200+ under was bad...(and that was just Park Op as far as I had been told)

Ok really.. Can we at least wait until they announce the pay/bonus for next year before we start complaining about it? Thanks :-)

Why not? You know we're just going to complain about it once they announce it, anyway, whatever it is. Might as well get started early ;-)

Seriously, they need to re-think the bonus from last season. $1 didn't always keep everyone there for their whole contract, but $.50 damn sure didn't...

Well weren't there talks about there being an incentive program for returning employees next year? I could have sworn I saw that in the minutes.

That would be a good idea, but they need to change something beacuse it is not working. A better bonus and better pay would be nice, but I dont think they are ready to shell out that kind of money just yet on employees. I hope they do raise the rate because it is a big factor for me if I want to come back.

Isn't that kinda the point of these boards...to start a topic, address rumors, speculate, complain, rant, rave and so on and so on? Asking someone to stop complaining or speculating on these boards kinda defeats the purpose of these boards, right?
