I have to say that the JobNet thing is quite nice. I don't remember the FAQ section last year. It answers quite a few questions that I didn't know when I processed in last season.

Welcome back Jim! In case no one has noticed, you have to fill in information for your Background Check Authorization section on Job Net. Then once you enter the information just click accept just like you did for your contract.
I hit the button to accept my contract before I filled in the background information... now it says the authorization form's already been submitted (which I didn't do). Shoot. I emailed Steve about it and I guess the problem got forwarded to HR (whom I should have contacted in the first place apparently).
So I guess, my point was... if anyone hasn't accepted their contract yet, do the background thing first, just in case you run into the same problem I did.

I am assuming that everyone has been able to successfully accept their contracts online by now. With that being said, are there any more questions or concerns about the process that some of you may have?

I have a question that deals with housing. I am processing in on may 4th and my friend will probably not be able to process in until late may. If i come up and get housing early will they let me move dorms to move in and room with him. Just curious, thanks everyone.

Do they take applications year round?I still dont know if im going to be able to make it up there. I might not make up my mind until April.
To answer both of the previous questions, yes.
As far as housing goes, you are free to move to another room throughout the season as space permits, but they only let you move two times or so. So, if your friend has a space in his room when he gets there, you can easily move in with him. I don't know how they've been handling saving spaces lately, but in 2006, they were allowing you to save space for a friend that was coming later as long as they were processing in within two weeks, but that as well depends on how much space is available. When Cedars and Gold open up in late May, a lot of spaces in Commons open up, as many people move on point, so I don't foresee you guys having a problem.
Applications are accepted throughout the season. My first summer I didn't even apply to mid-June and was hired the next day. Hope that answers that.
I just received my contract today and I will be on Top Thrill Dragster this summer!!!

I'm sure I read this somewhere else but I can't find it now for the life of me... what bank are the ATM's in the park? (Apparently the bank I've been using for the past 5 years doesn't exist in Ohio, so I'll have to open another account... fun.)

The ATMs inside the park are National City ATMs.

Congrats coastertycoon310! Welcome to Cedar Point, if you have any questions about working there don't be afraid to let us know. This is a great way to start out, so that you can make friends before you even process in!

Here's a quick question...does Cedar Point offer tickets for employee family members or friends?

yes they do. After you work there for a month you get four free tickets to be used by the people of your choice.

I remember it being after 28 days of working you could go to HR and redeem your 4 free courtesy tickets.

Also if you quit work before your contract is up, your free tickets become void. I've had a number of problems with that this summer, and some angry guests!

I think it depends on whether or not your department seeks to invalidate them. I know several people who quit but their Comp tickets were still valid. I think it's more common for them to be voided if you're fired, than if you quit.

I was marked down as quitting after processing out without working some weekends, but my comp tickets still worked in October. I knew there was a chance of them not so I was prepared to toss them and buy new tickets. There's a key difference to how I quit and how others quit. I worked all the way through my full time period and they knew I was leaving. Others just process out leaving everyone scrambling to fill their hours.
