You pretty much decide where you want to live, first. When you process in, if you want Commons, just go to Commons at the main office. If you want Bayside, I don't really know, and Cedars, just go either inside or the housing office which is right to the right of Cedars entrance. Pending on when you do come, Cedars may still be closed.
You can always switch rooms and relocate to another facility has well.
Cedar Point Lifer
Employee 2006-2009
Because its 4:06 am in the morning and I'm getting sleepy I'm going to leave a simple note too all new and returning employees of 2008. Have a great year everyone. Its a fun job. There is some stressful moments, we work a LOT of hours, but mostly the fun outweighs the stress. Its a great company to work for and if you each do your share of the work, it will make it less stressful for everyone.
So have an awesome 2008 season.
See y'all there hopefully.
I'll see ya in Pagoda or somewhere in the Park. I'm so looking forward to summer in general. Missing the sun. (remind me I said this when we're sweltering at the park). See ya'll soon.
Going on fifth year at CP (not sure where I'll be at this year...besides Front Merch. of course), working in WY winter 08-09,Pagoda sup '08,

For Bayside, go to the guard gate as you enter the fenced in area. And ask if there is available space. Usually we're filled up right at the beginning of season because that's where everyone is housed in the off season. But soon people start moving elsewhere and spots open up again. If you really want a Bayside spot, be patient and you might get it.

Most definitely a good workout; especially when you transfer on AND off a few times a day. Whenever I think of transferring on, I think of the movie Cool Runnings. :)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Superstars? That's what I wore last year, except mine were white with silver and not black.

I don't know. Something about wearing something picked out in the 60s/70s gets me thinking. ;)Seriously though, I had a guest last summer mention to me in passing that the uniforms are the same as from back when he was a kid; and he wasn't any younger than 40.
Well rayon will last for centuries......

^ 1) Yes. Management loves employees who contract for the whole season.2) Not quite sure what you're referring to. Housing is open from beginning to end. However, some sections of housing may open a bit later than other sections. An employee shuttle is offered for all housing residents.
3) There are various pictures of employees in the employment section of the cedarpoint website. You will be issued a ride host uniform, and other clothing articles such as a jumpsuit, rain gear, and sweat suit will be available for purchase.
Be sure to purchase the raincoat. The shoes we got in 1980 fell apart within a couple of weeks. I had to glue mine back together...
Be sure to purchase the raincoat.
I keep hearing different names for this stuff. I assume from what I've been reading there's 2 different sets of outdoor wear: rain gear (like a poncho or something), and a wind suit (which I'm assuming is wind pants and a windbreaker). I've also heard the term "smurf suit" thrown around, though I'm not sure which one that's referring to. Which is the one that everyone ends up buying from wardrobe? (Unless I'm confused and it's the same thing, then I apologise in advance).
