Good to know there's still hope for today ;)

It's not going to happen until HR gives the go ahead to the webmaster to put up the application.
For God's sake, give it a rest. Everyone has a job to do, and everyone needs a little time off now and then. It'll be there in due time. It's not life or death.
"For God's sake, give it a rest."
Take your own advice. ;)
It's not hurting anyone for some people to discuss the applications and their impending release. Just as you said, everyone needs a little time off. I'm taking a little time off right now as well, and have nothing to do tonight but look forward to applications...so, off you go young one. ;)

Kind of like my college applications, I want to get this one done and out of the way ASAP so that it isn't bugging me and constantly nagging at the back of my mind. Hopefully they'll be out in the first two weeks of January, because those aren't busy weeks for school work for me.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
e x i t...You remember when you were home off school and nothing better to do, don't ya?
Oh wait, actually when I wasn't in school I was out riding my bike or if it was cold, I went to the mall and caused some problems. And America wonders why obesity is such a problem. Get away from your desks and go do something.
You don't want to end up like this guy/gal.

Loopy, if you're implying that I'm just sitting around all day for three weeks doing nothing, you're grossly mistaken. I've been working my ass off and running around half the state doing various things the past two weeks...one day just sitting around is, in my opinion, well deserved.
As for "going to the mall and causing problems"...I'm sorry you had nothing better to do than cause trouble for people at the mall, then get online and have the nerve to imply people are obese simply because they are looking forward to an application. Yes, looking forward to an application my be a bit nerdy, I'll admit...but that doesn't make me obese, now does it? If you're basing time spent on Pointbuzz on your little obesity scale, then I'd be looking at someone that has a little more than 84 posts...I spend hardly any time around here as I much rather spend my time elsewhere in the world.
Coming from someone who has more than 6x the amount of posts than I do, in three months' less time than I had...by your logic, you'd be the obese one.
Of course, we all know that is flawed logic and you probably are not obese...and neither am I. So next time, before you go off and make an assumption about someone simply based on a couple sentences typed in a forum...let it go.
;) (There's the obligitory winking smiley so that this post is ok and not offensive...since some people seem to think that makes things okay)

I'm having issues with selecting Ride Host. I'm guessing it's because I'm under 18 right now, but I will in two months.

Wow kirk06, I don't think I ever once mentioned your name, did I?
I was merely mentioning the fact that a large amount of Americans are overweight and I feel that it has a lot to do with video games, television and computers. And the fact that parents have less control over their children today (but that's a whole other discussion).
If you are not over weight, I'm not sure why you took such offense to this. Maybe you should become the spokesperson for obese people, I'm sure they'd like that.
So now go fill out your little application for your summer job and have a good time....move along.

Alright lets get back on topic, and end this arguing about obese people. The application is now up as wickeddragster has informed everyone, and it is quite long. Be prepared to respond to a multitude of Personality questions, as well as many questions about your previous high school years. I wish good luck to all who apply, and now the waiting begins.

Okay, so when I go to choose choice of job, I am unable to select Ride Host because I am 17. However, I will be 18 by the time of processing in. I guess I would just continue with selecting my next choice of job, but is there anyway to have that changed during the interview?

Yeah, wow, there are a lot of us having the same problem with the Ride Host issue. Anyone have a good answer as to what to do?

for your top three choices can you put the same choice two times such as ride host, customer service host, ride host?
What are other good choices other than ride host? Why?
Well, I just went ahead and did everything, and di my first choices based on the jobs it gave me. But I didn't submit it yet. I'm going to wait to get a straight answer about what to do about the job preference thing before i do so.

If you are applying for a Ride Host position make sure that 606 - Ride Host is your top choice. Park Operations is the department, and Ride Operations is a division of Park Operations. I hope that minimized some of the confusion.

That makes sense, but the confusion is that when you tell the system you're only 17, even if you'll be 18 by the time the park opens, let alone when you process in, it only displays job options that you're eligible for at 17. I'm guessing they'll just address it at the time of your interview....?

Hey everybody.....I had quit pretty early in the season because I was being treated like crap from the excutive management for bringing more guests to the park (nothing illegal)IM me if you want the story, then after a week I regretted my decision and I am still beating myself up. Cedar Point is one of the best summer jobs that you can have, you meet new people, expirence new things, gain more responsiblility, and did I forget to mention FUN!!!!! If you have any questions hit me up. Trust me I was there for a month and three days. It's pretty intense at first but it gets better. Oh and stay in the commons dorms, they are off point (not on by the park) and cleaner (except for the bathrooms) so bring flip-flops, and extra blankets (some people love the air conditioner even when it's 39 degrees outside). Club laundry (laundromat) is always booming and they run out of Newport Cigarettes fast at the commons store(Commons store is where you get everything you need it's like a convience store). Sandusky is not in the middle of nowhere there is a Wal-Mart Supercenter, Meijers (the cleaner, better version of Wal-Mart, a mall with a couple nice shops (rue 21, aeropostle FYE, Sears and Macy's, Target (it was not open when I left in June but now is) Best Buy. There are employee shuttles and they tend to sometimes run behind schdule so catch the earliest one. We call them the prison buses because they are all painted blue (no bars on the windows), the drivers are Jerry, Brandon (Usher look alike), some mean old white guy, and this nice lady named Donna and another lady. Sandusky has two McDonald's one is right across the street from the common dorms aka CP projects. Security is tight, so don't worry about crazy people unless your roomates are ( I learned that the hard way IM me if you want the story). International workers tend to work at CP and at the Mall lol (it's true). And Club X is the truth(IM me if you want that story). You always get in the park for free so that saves you $40.00 every time oops I forgot prices have gone up to $42.95. There is a employee rec center behind 1400 dorms and it's nice, there's a kitchen so you can order food there and you also pick up your mail and care packages there, there is also computers which are really slow due to everyone having a laptop and wireless connections. You can bring your own tv (at your own risk) your own computer (at your own risk), oh there are lockers in the commons dorms. Bring pillows, blankets, air freshner, flip-flops, and cameras ( I hate that I did'nt) bring textbooks to study over the summer if you have time, bring a boombox. Every dorm has a lock but it's one of those push button locks, every person gets a key. Also get to know people and watch your back the first two or three weeks until you get to know people, talk to people get to know there background, and bring a great personality. And have fun. Do not get your ears pierced, because no earrings. IM me with further questions. Hopefully see you in five months. Opening Day May 12, 2007.
