Yeah don't be like Matt B up there and quit because you don't like management... Just as in ANY minimum-wage job, management is going to piss you off sometimes... get over it. Plus if you want to come back next year after realizing how sweet of a job it really is and that you were just being a baby, chances are that you'll find that they won't want to hire you back after you quit before your contract was over.

I almost quit last year and walked off the job when I worked in games. My one supervisor who was an a$$ accused me of stealing because there were too many ones in my money apron, im glad i didn't walk off and quit now

See I didn't understand games, because they always had to have a certain amount of money or something and it was impossible to do the demands of that job.
The whole money policies they had at least at geauga lake were kinda weird, and were hard to understand. We never had to have a certain amount of money that we made at the end of the day, but depending on how busy it was, depended on how much money you were allowed in your apron, but you werent allowed to count your money in public view so that was impossible to do. And then you werent allowed to have 10's 20's 50's and 100's in your apron, so you had to put them in your cash box, which was pretty much a little locked up box that you dropped the bills in, but when it got jammed you were pretty much screwed becuase if a sup. came around to do an apron check to see if you had any unauthorized bills in your apron they would just say you purposly jammed the box just so you could steal money, and if that ever happened at the end of the day they would pocket search you and since you're not allowed to have any personal money with you, even to buy lunch you would get in trouble for that, because your supposed to keep your money in your locker, but they never gave us any lockers so that didn't really work. But handling cash especially in games was a bitch because they suspected everyone of stealing. But the whole money thing was a bitch to deal with, which is why i'll probably switch to rides next year, but other than that games was fun.

Yeah I think that was the same at the point....They had these gangstas from Detroit going crazy at the end of the day.
So why did you really quit Matt B? Might as well tell the whole story on here. *** Edited 12/29/2006 6:39:46 AM UTC by Bootz3456***

Well, I was the one who did the crazy speils, that did'nt offend guests. I basically kept it real and the guests loved it. Bob Woziniack came up to me one day and just killed my whole character. I was miserable for the rest of the three weeks after that incident, that's why I quite, I also was homesick, but the main reason was that. I worked at maXair, I had fun, but that was the straw that broke the camel's back
So for those of us that are having the issue with selecting ride host should just bring it up during the interview?
Millennium Force Crew 2007
Raptor Crew 2008
you have to have ride host down because you have to have Park Operations do your interview. You can't select something like....night trash and expect to interview for a ride host position. Two totally different departments...

Yes but, I wasn't able to select ride host because I am now 17, however, I will be 18 when the time comes.
Millennium Force Crew 2007
Raptor Crew 2008
I'm assuming that it is just a bug in the software. I seen no reason why they would not allow those who will be 18 before they start to even be considered. I'll see what I can do when the managers get back from winter vacation.
People that are having problems with selecting ride host for whatever reason, do the obvious: call the park and ask. Don't assume anything and submit your application anyway.

Yeah, that's what I did. I completed the entire application, and sent them an e-mail. When I find out for sure, I'll submit it.

Odd thing is, the link on the CP site doesn't seem to be working. It appears that the link that wickeddragster gave is indeed the 2007 apps, but they haven't gotten it tied to the main site yet. odd, but oh well.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
The Cedar Point website is working, I guess they don't want heavy traffic from employees there right now. They simply took the jobs.cedarpoint.com link out from the applications page.
Well, I sent an e-mail to Human Resources the other day, and still haven't heard back from them. I figure it will probably take them a few days to catch up from being closed.
I also called Human Resources several times throughout the day today, and there was nothing but a voice recording directing everyone to CedarPoint.com.
Anyone else get a hold of anyone, or figure out what to do regarding the 17-year-old age problem with job selection?
EDIT: Apparently there is no need to worry. They know about the issue and are trying to get it resolved by Friday. They don't plan to start hiring for 2 weeks anyways.

Being a ride host, what do you do other than check restraints? Could someone tell me all the specifics of what ride hosts do during there shift.
