Nope, the interviews at the park are for local residents. You have the same chances on a phone interview as with on-site interviews.

The general rule is if you live within 30 or so miles of the park, you should go to an in-person interview. If you live more than 30 miles from the park, they are very willing to schedule an interview with you over the phone. Probably 75% of employees (and maybe even more) will interview over the phone. Cedar Point normally doesn't turn away many potential employees, so as long as you are a good communicator on the phone, it will not hurt your chances of getting the job. Just be yourself and don't be afraid to ask questions or to let them know your preferences when they ask. Remember if they ask if you like working with children and you say yes, you could very easily find yourself spending your summer in Camp Snoopy, so be careful. It's ok to say no as long as you have some valid reason why.

Good luck!

Hi! I have been reading all of the posts the last few days because I submitted my application to Cedar Point last week. I just signed up for an account today because I was wondering if someone would be able to tell me what it is like to work in Kiddy Kingdom. I am an Eled/Sped major and I wrote that down thinking it could be good experience. Are the crews as tight there as they are for other rides? Are the days longer or shorter then the normal 50-60 hours a week? Whatever information that could be given out would be appreciated. Thanks :)

I did extra hours in Kiddy Kingdom and it was fun, you interacted alot with guests and their children, you had, to be extremely careful, because of the age of the riders, and there are alot more safety guidelines to follow. It's fun, I just advise wearing extra sunscreen and, bringing your a-game to work everyday.

Welcome to Mantis the only stand-up roller coaster in the state of Ohioer, this is not a sit-down roller coaster, if you want to sit down then their is the I-ron Dragon over to the left and across the midway is Milliunem Force.

4) Are their any bars that allow 18 year olds

Louie's used to allow 18 year olds if you were a Cedar Point employee, but now I think they are 19. Policies tend to change, so you can ask around once you get there. Remember that the legal drinking age in Ohio is 21 ;).

.

My question is what about people who do not work at the Point?

Say my girlfriend and I want to go. Im 22 and shes 20. could she go or no.

Thanks

Forgot to add that we would be guests or whatever..not workers.

What do you do if you miss the phone call? Call them back or see if they try again or?

I missed their call when I first got hired. They left a voicemail and I think sent me an email saying either to call them back or they'll call back on a certain other day.. I don't remember which. But don't worry if you do.

And they haven't called anyone yet..

If you have completed your application log onto https://jobs.cedarpoint.com/ with your email address and the password they emailed to you.

Select "My Status" then look under "current status." If it does not say anything other than the thank you for applying, then nobody has looked at your application yet. When a manager looks at your application it will say something like "Steve viewed your application 1/23/07." Chances are, they will call you when they look at your application.

Don't worry, they will have a lot of phone calls to make and that will take time. They will have to start doing interviews and you will probably see a few posts on here that they got one. Before you know it, you will be getting that call.

Im curious, when you are interviewed/hired for rides, do you get to choose which specific ride or zone to work?

nah - you can say where you'd like to work, but there aren't any guarantees. The questions they ask you about your ride are like "big/little," "adult/child," etc. So if you just describe your ride in your head, and then say something like, "I would really like to work at Raptor," They will do their best to get you there.

But then again, sometimes they don't put you at the specific ride that you request, but the ride that you get put on it similar.

Any ride that you get is going to be really fun - promise!

I can understand Corkscrew and Iron Dragon, but why Giant Wheel?

Because climbing the ladder up to the center sucked... big time.. Its reallllllly steep and has no place to hook your harness on the way up! Once I'm up there I'm fine though. Stupid stairs.

Oh, dont get me wrong, I liked working the Corkscrew... Just didnt like the crew. (And they didnt like anybody either)

This is probably a dumb question, but is Challenge Park considered part of Park Operations?
