lmbrady, you will love Ripcord. I subbed there a few days in '02, when I worked on the Grand Prix and Sprint Racetrack. The best part of the job is being used as the test dummies on windy days. Actually, you will probably be used a test dummy on most days. Have a great summer! I will see you many times this summer.
I'm too sexy for my harness!
This is probably a stupid question but I planned to go to Cedar Point on May 10th so I could be their for opening day, but a friend asked me to go to prom with her and it is on the 12th. Will not going until after opening day hurt my chances of getting a major coaster, and will having the 10th on my application and then explaining that I can't go until the 13th be bad. Any info would be great.

Your ATL is Michael... AKA FreezeCoaster
He's from Texas and is very weird.
Thats all I'm gonna say.
Brock,
when they call to hire you, explain your situation (although I might be vague about the reason, and say it's an engagement that just came up that you can't miss). They'll give you a hard time about missing opening day but they'll still hire you. Do you live close by? If so, they might still have you process in on the 10th and train on the 11th so you'll be fully trained on your location when you actually start work on the 13th. That's what happened to me last year, I had to process in and train the day before opening day, miss opening day to go to a graduation, and then I started actual work at my ride the day after opening day.
So, if you really want to go to the prom, hold your ground during the interview. It really shouldn't affect much.
