I was reading on the CP webpage that you should bring a wristwatch. i use my cell phone to get the time, is this allowed if it is on slient? or is there an absolute no cell phone policy?

A wristwatch would be a good idea. When I worked at Geauga Lake last year the cell phone policy was you werent even allowed to have a cell phone in your pocket even if it was on silent or vibrate, so its probably the same for cedar point. You could most likely get away with a phone in your pocket as long as no one sees it, so pulling it out to check the time wouldn't be acceptable, but you could most likely get away with having it in your pocket. A wristwatch would be the best though.

The rule is that cell phones are not supposed to even be with you while at work. Like (thevillain) said its best to bring a watch.

I had my phone but it was in my backpack in the employee storage room and just wore a watch.

The safest bet and to stay out of trouble with your deparment would be to wear a watch and leave your cell phone with your backpack.

I have a question about geauga lake applications. Last year when i worked there I was 15, so i worked in games. This year i want to work in rides, but i dont turn 16 untill march and dont want to wait until then to apply. Do you think that they wont hire me because im 15 now but will be 16 by the time the park opens? Also when i was putting my job preferences in, only the positions that 15 year olds can have came up, so that excluded rides. Is there any possible way i can apply for rides before I turn 16 in march.

This obviously has nothing to do with Cedar Point, so I don't know how it works. I would call the park and speak with a rides manager about that.

Well, ya but if your caught with it.......

Its better to get off on a good foot with your department your first season instead of getting caught with your cell phone at work, afterall we are responsible for guests safety. :)

Your absolutely right getting caught with your cell phone out while on platform is not the best idea. However, people make mistakes and it would be wise to learn from them the first time, or to not make them at all.

So what does everyone think, are the 2007 applications for new employees going to come out tomorrow? Do year-round employees go back to work then so they can flip the switch on the internet to accept them? Well a bird told me they come out tomorrow...okay not really, but somebody here said they called. I guess we shall see.

I have a question about applications:

Do you need to put down your previous employment with the park in the employment history section if you are coming back?

Of course ya do, just like all other jobs lol. Be as honest as possible, and don't leave anything out. I think everyone will be surprised at how long it is.

hmmm...it's the 27th and still no application! Sorry I guess i'm just impatient. I bet they will come out after the first of the year. Maybe January 2nd or so.

That page has said January 2007 since they updated the jobs.cedarpoint.com page to say Late-December.

There's no one in the offices until January.

The last day they were in was on the 22nd of December, I believe.

Well someone's doing something. They've just updated jobs.cedarpoint.com and have taken down the message of "Check back late-Deember" and now have instructions for "Local Applicants: Please apply online before attending a local interview session."

Employees in the human resource office don't manage the website.

That's done remotely.
