Maybe they should add an all-season games pass to your season pass........

I greatly prefer the aquarium that they announced yesterday.

The shift seems to be toward automated games, at least for the Main Midway ones.

Yep, they specifically mentioned that "operators" are no longer needed for the games. I would hope this move was designed to free up games workers so they could move the same number of employees to ride ops and perhaps be able to open Gemini on a Tuesday in June. But I am certain this move was to keep game revenue flowing without the need to pay someone therefore increasing the bottom line.

I haven’t realized we haven’t really seen this ride built in real life yet. It’s looking good I’m ready for it.

looks great! I'm still surprised they did the tunnel -- as that was an unexpected and super costly feature they would never have included had this been originally designed for Cedar Point. (I suppose asking Vekoma to somehow redesign that triple down at the 11th-hour really wasn't realistic.)

Can't wait to ride it.

When they said a tunnel was coming with this ride, I did not anticipate that it was 20 feet under ground.

I think that's the bottom of the slab pour. He said a 5 foot thick slab which is enormous so maybe bottom of track is 15' down from grade which seems about right from the renderings. Either way will be a unique feature at CP!

For sure.....either way, did not anticipate it being anywhere that deep (15' or 20').

^Neither did I, dude.

Though I'm curious, what kind of measures are put in place to prevent water from penetrating the concrete that low?

Work harder, seagulls! You need to push Cedar Point into the sun!

A 5' slab + the height of the supports + track + trains + seats + riders + the height of the slab above, it looks like there's a good chance it'll be a head chopper feeling. From the video, it seems like you're moving pretty fast and aren't under there very long.

The concept art is pretty plain. I'm assuming they still plan to have the lines go over it. Wonder if they'll add in any theming, above ground tunnel walls, or at least what type of fence will they use.

A cofferdam, of course.

General Discussion random thought today; With planting season here and some flowers popping up here and there I want to give a shout out to the Cedar Point Landscaping Dept.. They do a top-notch job making beautiful gardens in the plots around the park. Often, the ones below the SkyRide are themed so I'm curious to see any Sirens Curse theming tied in. Begs the question, why isn't SkyRide open today?

I drove up the Causeway about a week ago and saw that the Prayers from Maria sunflower Field was nicely tilled and a sign in place. It seemed to me that it was very sparce last year, I have no idea why whether environmental, funding, whatever. It's beautiful when in full bloom, prayers back at the cause.

From what I had heard, taken with a grain of salt, they didn't get planted soon enough and the weather was a bit more dry than needed to cultivate a good field.

Check the CP webcams now and then to see if they move Camera 1 to show Sirens Curse. Haven't seen that. But just now saw Millennium and Maverick testing. Guardians opening day tomorrow (though first pitch is expected to be in the high 30s). Summer is definitely on its way.

I was watching an Airtime Thrills video today on SeaWorld with Knotts in California, and I noticed a TGI Fridays in the park. I looked it up, and it says that the place is permanently closed.

I then looked up the CP location at Breakers. Google says it's permanently closed, though it's still on the CP website for now.

May 20th, 2014 was when Fridays went to private equity. It was the beginning of the end.

Today, we're pretty much eating this (image source here):

I tried posting a synthetic Krabby Patty image from the SpongeBob Wikia, but it didn't work.

Unofficial Rule of Ride Removals

You must announce removals in advance so people can get their last rides in, unless a major incident or malfunction prevents the ride from doing so.

This applies to roller coasters, flat rides, water rides, and so on.

Exceptions to this rule include upcharge attractions, waterpark rides, and rides that are effectively redundant within a park.

You can't always trust Google "business hours." Anyone can suggest an edit stating something is permanently closed though that's not the case. If so many people suggest something, Google will take that and use it on a listing.

THIS. Only showed us a very brief glimpse at the beginning of January for a few hours. It defies logic to me that we saw more construction footage for the assembly of Wild Mouse than we're seeing for Siren's Curse. You would think the park would want to hype up their new ride and share some construction footage, but nope. I don't get it. Yeah, the Chronicles on youtube are nice once in a while but I miss the old days of seeing Valravn being assembled on the webcam. Oh well.....
