I figured we didn't have a general discussion, so hopefully this is okay!
Looking at permits being filed, it looks like there is a new balloon pop game in one of the Snoopy themed areas. A shade structure is going to be added to one of the climbing ladder game. Also looks like the inside of Miss Keats is getting renovated as well.
It's crazy to think but in just over a month away and the park will be open!
Five weeks from today!
I wish they'd do opening day on Friday though. It felt like more of an event when I could take the day off work and go.
I did notice a dumpster outside Miss Keats during WCO
But I couldn't tell if they were doing anything inside or just refreshing the front porch.
I hope they keep the burrito bowls, that was one of my go to places many times last season.
Who knows and who cares? Probably longer than the OG Dragster. The negativity that surrounds this ride from enthusiasts is old and unoriginal.
To be fair, a lot of the negativity around this ride originates from when it almost killed that poor lady.
Sit tight fellas ;) Applebee's fills my belly daily.
Even if TT2 shuts down a week into the season and Sirens Curse doesn't open until September 21st we will still be able to enjoy the park. We'll be at Breakers Fri/Sat/Sun opening weekend, looking forward to it no matter what is open.
Do we think Peninsulaofthrills will get some shots of the new toilets in testing mode also?
Fingers crossed they do a proper full load test. We can’t risk any downtime after opening day, not with the expanded Happy Friar menu ;)

^JUnderhill, agreed. Had a blast all last season without both of them. Staying at Breakers opening weekend as well and looking forward to it!

Summertime is nigh. Belsnickle judges this year admirable. Canning rings for everyone.

^^ It is going to be a good time no matter the weather or what is open. I know many folks do nothing but complain about the opening weekend hiccups but after a long off-season it is great to be back. We only live about an hour away but love staying at Breakers and do so several times a year. I enjoy the rides but also enjoy walking around and taking it all in, especially while having a few adult beverages!
On one hand I can't wait for opening day. On the other hand I'm a college student and I'll possibly be living at university/doing fieldwork for the summer, so I won't be able to get on point as much. And part of me wants to wait since opening days for me have always been a hit or a miss. I've also got the sunfish I spent several years dreaming about, so I'll probably take that out instead.

They just posted a video of them launching Top Thrill 2 in the rain. I'm back in. If they can launch this baby in the rain, it's gonna be operating at 110% come opening day.
^^^BleauxJays. That is quite awesome. We should coordinate a similar test up at CP, for science. although I fear the result may be excess flow and debris in Thunder Canyon 😵💫

Just because Zamperla and/or CP maintenance is doing testing in the rain doesn't mean the ride won't be participating in the asinine rain/weather policy the park follows during normal operations,
The comment regarding the rain was most likely due to what happened last season. The last operating day prior to CP announcing the closing of TT2 was a very windy and rainy day. Many at that time, and several still claim that the troubles were related to the rain. That was the first day TT2 struggled clearing the top hat and many assumed there was an issue with the launch system. The issue that day were the ridiculously strong and cold winds off the lake. We now know it was train related vs. launch system related. Either way, the fact that CP posted a video showing the trains launching in the rain was definitely done on purpose and, at least in my opinion very well played.
In regards to the rain/weather policy I would bet CP would be facing a lot of complaints from people riding TT2 in the rain. Gatekeeper and Maverick can be painful enough, Millennium in the front row is at a whole different level though. While I agree some ride closures for weather are extreme I bet TT2 in the rain would not be a very enjoyable experience.
