Best location for a relocated Ripcord...

I've only seen a few pictures of this new location, but I have to ask....

For those of you that have seen it in person, what do you think? Does the ride fit well into the area, or has it ruined this area of the trail?

I hated Shoot the Rapids- but it did look cool from the trail.

Honestly it fits in better then I thought it would. It'll only fit in more once the area is rebuilt from removing StR. Maybe a new log flume or GCI in the future back there will only help round out the area.

Where do you buy tickets? Where do you wait to board, harness, etc.? Do they use the old station for components, or is that vacant?

Not sure where you get tickets/harnesses up. I'm guessing the old Crystal Rock Bottleing Company building for harnessing and old ride photo booth for tickets, but I don't know for sure, that's just my opinion.

They built a small addition on the side of the photo booth for harnessing. Everything is taken care of (tickets and harnessing) in the old photo booth

I was at CP Sunday and today from 9:00am to 1:00pm each day. Both days we rode CPLE RR from Frontier Town. Yes, the new location looks just fine and both days it was well staffed with 5 crew members standing at the RR gate waving at the train, no customers at the time. I hope business picks up, perhaps this is typical of that ride this time of year. Today there are tons of school busses, I assume those kids don't have alot of extra money on them.\

Last Saturday & Sunday we walked Frontier Trail. The Professor is a good addition, but he wasn't pedalling at that time.

With the little touches of clever theme they added, it actually fits in nicely. Everyone also has to keep a bigger picture in mind as well; this area has only begun to be redeveloped.

To answer your question CPboy, I think so.

I think everything is done in the old photo building, the station building isn't being used.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,

The new setup is like this: the old entrance and fastlane line are fenced off. Tickets are purchased in the old photo booth, you exit out the side into the flight suit area, a new partially enclosed area over the old exit pathway. After being flight suited, you go up the old exit around to the flight lines.

As I've probably stated before, the ride looks great in it's new location, and the near misses with the trees on the Frontier Trail are awesome, pleasant change for one of my favorite rides.

Yesterday evening around 7:30pm was the first time in 7 visits to CP this year that I have seen someone using Frontier Fling. It does look awesome, I have never tried it. On each of our previous visits there has been no customers there, only 5 or 6 ride associates waving at us as we passed by on CPLERR.

Like I said, it sure looks like fun but I do not anticipate contributing to the ridership numbers, There are enough other fun rides without having to pay extra.

While that's true, its ridership numbers are most likely just fine or the attraction would have found its way inside a Sandcrawler and sold for scrap.

People pay extra for things around each and every corner of each and every park everywhere.

While we will most likely never see the data, I would venture a strong guess in the opposite direction. Now it's not so much of a stand-alone attraction as it is a part of the Frontier world...with a clever theme. Perhaps more importantly, though, it's going to get passed by a larger amount of guests on a daily basis, and I would assume that for an attraction like this it's all about visible foot traffic.

I'm really excited to see how the rest of the former STR area gets developed alongside this attraction.

The sure sign of low ridership would be a drop in the price to ride or incremental pricing as the day progresses like KI does.

Platinum Pass discounts or grouped pricing with Slingshot would be another.
