Good to hear there are a couple people who are onboard with this move because the butt hurt from the rest is a bit extreme for this one. Count me in with liking the new location. It will serve the park much better than an empty plot of land would.
I'm sure it'll be fine, and it IS better than just having a hunk of unused real estate just sitting there, but... I dunno. I wish they'd put it something better than a gussied up old Skycoaster. Maybe in time- if it can be moved once, it can be moved again when a better use for the space (:coughPROPERLOGFLUMEcough:) comes along.

I love the location of it. I only wish they used this time to get a taller model.

I'm confused why so many are against this location.
They still can use the station from STR for that GCI woodie yall want... It can turn and head towards Millennium Island and make its why back....
This isn't all that will ever be in this area.... 75% of STR took place on the island...

Because the roller coasters!!!!11!!1
Everyone needs to take a deep breath a remember that rides can be relocated and that a coaster wasn't passed over for Rip Cord.
They didn't fill in the lagoon, but it does look like they filled in the pond that was was the "splashdown" area of STR. That's disappointing, it would have made for good presentation. Now it's just a giant swing over a grassy area. Might as well still be in the parking lot.

They probably didn't have a choice. The load/unload for FF would have been directly over that pool.

Also, that was a man-made pool that was part of the flume system. Probably was no longer able to hold water with the rest of the system gone.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
^^There's many skycoasters with the loading platform over water.
^It was a concrete pool. A concrete bowl can't hold water?

At WCO, Jerry told us that the staging area where riders get fitted for their flight suits will be to the left of the ride. He didn't necessarily say it would be in the former STR station, but that is the general vicinity he pointed in.
^ Anybody know if the old photo/gift shop building is still there? If so is there any plan to use it again?
It's still there; it was used for one of the mini Skeleton Key-only haunts during HalloWeekends last year as a blackout maze.
Here ya go. I can't wait to see this sign in person

Sorry, was on mobile and couldn't. Thanks samosuband. I assume they will add to the black lettering to make it stand out.
