I think they should make it even more messy....

Add, "Cedar Fair Entertainment Company" underneath Water Park. ;)

They really need to hire a new graphic designer. Their logos are too heavy on text. A good logo wouldn't have Cedar Point, Soak City AND water park all squished together like that. They're all competing for attention and none are winning.

Its a nice update, but I'm not a big fan. They need to learn that simple is better.

Hopefully they'll need one by the time I graduate college. I'm going to go for graphic designing.:)

I'm going right now for CAD/Visual Design and I've now decided that my senior project is going to be a huge marketing update for Cedar Point, Soak City, etc. New logos for everything, including rides 9excluding recents additions).

When you get it done, I'd like to see it. it sounds cool. Maybe you could post samples of your project here for us to see.

I'll definitely do that. It'll take a while to finish it, but I'll post as I do.

I bet the New Soak City logo will look somewhat different when used in applications different from a web page banner.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I like it. It's a fresh update on a logo that was still living in the 80's.

True. But I just don’t like how Cedar Fair has to use the same image/logo across the board with similar projects. I don’t even like how they use the same name for similar attractions. Be creative and different. That use to be the one thing I liked about Cedar Fair vs. Paramount, Six Flags. There rides and attractions for the most part had different names and/or logos from park to park.

They could have easily came up with a new logo instead of using the Knott’s one.

Will these new resteraunts be sit down resteraunts? If so where will they be located?

Still no new paintjob for Millennium or Top Thrill... Oh well maybe next year.

I bet I could create a cool interesting logo. I would have a water splash affect with a surfer on the top of it or something cool like that and the words Soak City either above it or below the Wave. Maybe even in the wave. I want to do this as a career in the graphic design field. I think I would come up with some really cool stuff.

I am a graphic designer and I have to congratulate CP on their design team; including the new Soak City logo (which is actually the same logo CF uses for Soak City at Knott's and their SC in Palm Springs). I always dug the 80's version but agree that it was time for an update.

But it's nothing new. They could have changed the logo a while ago.

^^ You're a graphic designer and you're congratulating a company on just using a logo from another of their properties? You call that design? To me it looks like they just added a bunch of text to an existing logo which was just ok to begin with. Its very "clumsy" as a logo. They could've done WAY better.

What's wrong with sharing logo designs? Does brand recognition mean nothing?

In case anyone else noticed, MiAd, King's Island and the former Paramount Parks have gotten new logos. Powder blue lettering with a flag dotting the "i". MiAd's site has gotten a little makeover too.

I bet this is why Cedar Point is getting at least one new restaurant. I could see it as a possibility that Johnny Rockets would be leaving.
