Cedar Point 2007. Here's the latest.

Why not see if one of the local resturants wants in to that spot? Say maybe Chet & Mats pizza?

I barely remeber Fascination, so I cant vouch for it. But I dont think JR is that bad. Though if it does end up going, I hope it's replaced by something good.

I'm not quite sure what CP's agreement is with the chains that get installed in the parks. But, this is another example of why putting someone else's restaurant in your park is a bad idea. You have no control over their brand. And, the average consumer just associates the two brands together. So, if bad press is involved with a brand inside your park, it negatively affects your brand as well. In the case of JR, they're now going to have to invest money into changing out that restaurant. If they had put in their own restaurant, they wouldn't have that extra expenditure.

You and the whining about the chains again

Well this move is something Cedar Point is scratching their heads about. I'm sure when they signed a contract with them, that they figured the restuarant would stay for a long, long time. I'm sure it won't be that big of a deal to change over 1 restuarant. Heck maybe Steak-n-Shake will decide to move in there. :)

I'd love it if they put a Skyline Chili in there. That used to be half the fun of going down to Cincy (the other half being KI, obviously) until they finally got up here to northern Ohio.

Another possibility I wouldn't mind seeing: Swensons. They're only in NE Ohio, but they have amazing, amazing burgers. :)

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

Now THATS a good idea. What about bringing something from the west coast? Say In-N-Out Burger? While i was driving a semi XC, my friend who grew up out in SoCal, turned me on to that place.

How about maybe have Skyline Chili come up? A chain that started in Ohio at Ohio's premier park.

Except that CP is midwest, not west-coast.

And what could be more midwest than White Castle.

I would really rather see a restaurant that is known for something other than burgers...

I would also like to see a Sonic, They have funny commercials and I hear they have tasty stuff. Also I think it would be cool if Thirsty Pony moved into the JR spot. They have great burgers including the Bleu Streak Burger, smothered in Bleu Cheese yummy!

I could be mistaken, but hasn't In N Out said they won't open restaurants away from the West coast? I thought they were all family owned (and maybe operated) so I don't think there'd be one going into CP. I do love In N out though. Swensons.....mmmmmmmmm!!!

Why does everyone want fast food in the park? If I had a choice of what restaurant, it certainly would NOT be fast food. As for the Sonic, there is only one in Ohio. So I doubt the next would be in an amusement park.

And a local restaurant in the park would not be that big of a deal. There are not to many places in Sandusky with standout food. Most is just ok. If they are going to put in a chain restaurant, it will probably be something that is well known, i.e. Famous Dave’s, TGIF, Johnny Rockets. The only place in Sandusky that I can think of that would be good in the park is Berardi’s because of their history with the park. But even then a family from outside of the area is not going to know what Berardi’s is. But a Max & Erma’s they will.

Id like to see more restaurants outside of the park. Even if JR is going to be gone, I think a new resturant in Challenge Park would be a good idea. Before Game Day was put in, it was rumored that it was going to go where the Challenge Park Arcade is. More places to eat after the park closes, on-point, is the better option I think. Even though that is how I feel, I am sure we will see these new restaurants inside the park. Probably one in the front (JR) and one in the back (Frontier Inn).

Not trying to be picky but there's more than one Sonic in Ohio.

There's 3 in and around Cincinnati alone.

According to their website there is only one IN Ohio. I am sure there are some outside of Cincinnati in Kentucky, but that is Kentucky.

Edit-Upon further investigating.

When you do a search within 150 miles of Kings Island, only ONE in Ohio comes up. The one in Athens. Actually the one in Athens is the ONLY one I can ever get to come up.

But when you look at there franchise information, they say there are seven in Ohio. So, if your just a customer looking for a location there is only one. Regardless though, having one at Cedar Point would not be that great of a deal for them at the park.

No there's 3 right North of Cinci and two more east of Cinci.

Franklin, Maineville, Hamilton, Athens and Nelsonville

I think that's all of 'em in Ohio.

EDIT: I'd be interested to know where the other 2 are if there's 7

Portsmith and Jackson also have one. But still, the website only says one. Not really sure why that is something they have not updated yet since most of those have been in Ohio since November. Now you see why I said only one. It would be nice however if they would build one up near the lake since every other comercial is a Sonic comercial.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Fazolis go in there if Johnny Rockets Leaves that one. They have really good Italian Food. It would be like Midway Market which is by the Skyride. What I mean by that is they could
set it up where it would be buffet style like how East of Chicago does it outside of Cedar Point. *** Edited 2/10/2007 12:26:52 AM UTC by Shawn Meyer***

Mmm.... Fazolis. I just had me some of that about an hour ago. :)

Johnny Rockets was huge for the park. I never ate there because I didn't care for the 45-60 minute wait they always had. Hopefully, if it is going away, they'll find a good place that will pack in the same amount of people. I'd rather not see another chain, but there are some good ones out there that have been suggested here already. Forget burgers though, CP already has enough burger places. I would like to see someplace in the park that sells GOOD pizza. Any pizza I've ever found around the park is the same stuff they serve up at the employee cafeteria, which is ok but not anything amazing.

PS- It is very confusing to see all the Sonic commercials they run around the Toledo area when there isn't a Sonic for 100+ miles around the area.
