Dragster has more than one element, Launch, Racing 420 feet strait up and then dropping 400 feet. and then you throw in the possibility of a rollback.

djDaemon- to say that Dragster is a noncoaster 20 second thrill ride,last time I checked it was a rollercoaster that lasted 17 seconds.

Not to get into the whole old coaster/non-coaster argument again, but it's barely a roller coaster. It rolls on wheels and coasts, but its really better described as a thrill ride, IMO. It doesn't share very many features with traditional roller coasters.

I guess we could say the same thing about Superman over at SFMM.
Anyway Bholcomb, how can you say that Millennium Force isn't worth the wait. How many times do I have to say this. Millennium Force is more about the First Hill, and the Drop. The Second Overbank turn and the two Overtime Hills, and the whole ride is what Makes Millennium Force #1. That's what keeps me coming back for more.

Gomez I had a question from what you posted on page 4. You said the attendance went up in 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003? Did Top Thrill Dragster cause a decrease in attendance a little at all? I know a lot you will be rolling your eyes on this question, but I"m just curious.

The attendance went from 3.1 million in 2001 to 3.2 in 2002 to 3.3 in 2003. Since then the attendance has gone back down to 3.1 million. 2003 (TTD's opening year) did bring in an increase.

My three favorite rides at CP are actually the shortest (TTD, PT: red side, and Demon Drop). The rush of MF's first drop goes away halfway throught the ride and drags on to long, magnum starts to get painful, Raptor is the only other coaster that seems to never let up. On TTD you are either not moving, going 120mph, 420 feet in the air, going 120mph again, or stopping. It's a non stop rush, start to finish. My adrinaline is still high as I get off the ride. That is my opinion at least. *** Edited 11/17/2005 7:58:05 PM UTC by Gomez***

lol, Then why go to Ceadr Point?:)

djDaemon, I'm not going to go into a serious argument over this but Dragster is a full-circuit roller coaster. Thrill ride=yes, coaster=yes. I guess you could look at it like the animal kingdom.

species=Top Thrill Dragster
genus=Strata-coaster
family=hydraulic launch coaster
order=full-circuit coaster
class=rollercoaster
phylum=thrill ride
kingdom=ride

It does a disservice to label TTD as a coaster, cause it makes it one of the all-time shortest (time) coasters in the world.

Great thrill ride, horrible coaster.

What are you talking about? I've sat on Dragster for 15 minutes before. ;) Of course, it was broken down.

And I think I spent about 10 on it during my rollback.

Oh yeah, well I spent about 20 on MS during its first year! :) Stuck on the lift for a bit - never did find out why though.

I've listened to the free beer and hot wings morning show for months and have yet to get a single free beer or hot wing.

Free is generally not really free.

I've lived long enough to understand that NOTHING in life is free. You pay for "it" in some way.

How about if I show up to a party uninvited, act cool then grab a few beers and then leave?

I don't pay for it in any way shape or from. Heck, I get offered the beer. To me, the beer is free in terms of monetary costs. I do have to give up the effort to go grab that beer and all. That is pretty trivial though. That is all the input I give. Sure THEY pay for it, but to me it's free.
