WickedMaintenance- If you're not BSing there you definitely get the prize. Sounds like we're roughly the same size and I've been worried if I can ride or not. We'll find out 6/13...

ROUNDABOUND.

On Sunday I got stopped at the entrance for the test seat but I made it. The belt is a tight fit to get it to snap together! Once it was together I had no trouble getting a few inches of slack. The size of the belt on the test seat seemed to be very close to what was on the ride.

5'8" about 215 lbs and a 38" waist

I never thought I would actually make it on!

I have a quick question... most of the heights and weights are of guys.. what about women? I'm fine and I can fit on the ride

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 125lbs

I'm sure sure my waist.. but I was just wondering, because I have family coming up (Mom and friends) and I was just wondering what the limit is for that.

I was just discussing with my parents about this thread and we were talking about it. My Mom is 5'7" and I'm not sure her weight, but its not that much. My Dad is 6'2" and weighs 220 I believe. Alright, I am an employee at Cedar Point, and when my parents come to the park, IF one of them cann't ride, I am seriously getting up out of my seat and walking out with them.

You're 5'10"? Do you have to be tall if you're female to work at CP? ;)

I've noticed posts from several guys saying they could ride, even though they were much larger than me (a female). Your waist measurement and weight obviously aren't as important as the measurement that takes into account your thighs, butt, hips and stomach.

Beccaraptor said he had trouble getting the belt closed, but once he did, was able to pull and get several inches of slack. I was able to get the belt closed, but couldn't get the slack. I'm wondering now if guys also have an advantage because they're usually stronger than women. I'll be the first to admit I have the upper body strenght of a gnat. Guess I'll add pumping iron to my weight loss program!

By the way, although I got kicked off the ride, I found the OPs to be very polite. Don't judge them all by a few bad eggs. I'm sure this is no picnic for them either.

Just to clear things up, I am female. I am unsure if you realised that or not. Sorry!

I tend to gain weight around my middle because I have a thyroid problem so that might be why I don't have the butt/thigh problem. Some of my weight is also muscle, I play ice hockey with "the guys" and I skate a lot, but I won't deny that a lot of it is fat. *** Edited 6/8/2004 3:51:51 PM UTC by beccaraptor***

So sorry Beccaraptor. Didnt' realize you were a female too. Men seem to outnumber women in this forum, and I just assumed incorrectly that you were a guy. I'm also hypothyroid, so I know what you mean about where the weight goes first. There were other posts from guys who gave me the impression they really yanked on that belt. And you sound like you're pretty athletic - so I'm guessing you're still stronger than me. So I'm still wondering if upper body strength comes into play here.

I'm female.

5'4"

110 lbs.

27" waist

34" hips

I have plenty of room.

The measurement you really need to be worried about is the hip measurement. The belt goes over your hip area, not your waist area.

I'm 6'0" and weigh 230.... I BARELY made it on... and I mean BARELY! I was never stopped at the front, which confused me because my butt is obviously bigger than my stomach! haha.

All that matters is that I got one heck of a ride!

5' 10"

255, down from 267 2 weeks (go go Atkins diet)

42" waist

Most of my weight besides my belly is in my chest and shoulders, so I'll be eating my no carb food, and hopefully by June 28th I'll be there! I'll be disappoined if I cannot ride this or TTD, but I like the water rides and the trains as well (no kidding, I do!).

The main reason that a higher percentage of women than men get turned down is that fat on a woman's body tends to build up around the thighs and buttocks, while fat on a man tends to go to the belly(with some going to the thighs and butt), but mostly the belly. Of course, fat can go anywhere.

Thank you swimmerkev for that breakdown of how women carry fat.

I never noticed.
