I thought I'd post this just in case anyone is still planning on going to CP in the 2014 year.
I'm female 5'9" approximately 235-245lbs with a 48" waist....45" maybe if you squish me. Lol
I just got back from Cedar Point a couple days ago and was able to ride EVERYTHING! I was completely shocked. I'm not gonna lie that it was a tight fit. WT was the worst...could barely breathe but whatever, it's not a very long ride. But the seat belts on MF and TTD were tight but not impossible. The ride attendants always buckled me in and never said a thing. I also never bothered trying the test seats since I heard their belts were shorter than the ones on the actual rides.
I will say I am definitely more of an "apple" than a "pear" when it comes to carrying body weight. My bust is 48" as well (aka the same size as my mid-section). And I honestly think carrying the weight like this was my saving grace to fit on these rides since the seat belts fastened right around my hip bones, under my stomach region. I have a much thinner thigh/behind area so unfortunately I can't help the more "pear-shaped" people out there, but hopefully this will help someone. Like a lot of people on here have said though, it's not about weight or even inches, it's how your weight is distributed for sure!
I'm 6'1", 226 lbs and can ride everything, some of the smaller rides like the Turnpike Cars is a tight fit with my long legs. I weighted about the same during my first trip of the year back in May, Wicked Twister was a little tight fit with getting the seat belt to lock. My second trip of the year this past week, rode Wicked Twister again and had no trouble with the seat belt. Remember hearing that the belts weren't cut to the same length.
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
Ok, hearing larger seat belts on MF since my last visit. Been two years since I visited the park, so never rode GK yet.
5'8, 250, 44" jeans but waist is closer to 42". Never had too much trouble on MF in the past (tight but never had the walk of shame) but I have expanded by about 10lbs since my last visit.
That being said....How tight is GK compared to MF? Is the longer seat belt on MF (41" vs. 40" in the past) noticeable? How about TTD, same 40" belt or did that get the longer belt as well?
Visiting tomorrow for the Last Stand on Mantis and I am debating if I should stick with jeans or if I should throw on the sweat pants. A little less bulk may make all the difference...
Update on my post above. At 5'8", 250 lbs, 44" waist I was able to ride everything. TTD and MR were my biggest worries but they ended up being no problem. Maverick and Raptor I had slack on the seat belt. Mantis posed a problem, I had to sit all the way down and have a worker push down to fasten the belt. Wicked Twister was even tighter. I had to remove my jacket and two workers got the belt to click. Gate Keeper was tight, but I fit and was able to fasten the belt without assisstance.
