How big are you? Can you ride?

coolkid's avatar

Cedar Point does not have the big boy seats like Busch Gardens or Universal Parks. All of the major rides do have test seats so try one of those out.

6'9"

220 lbs

waist 38"

Rode everything in the park with no issues. The operator at the Wicked Twister asked me once how tall I was and I told her 6'6" and she said "ok, enjoy your ride".Even though all the good rides say there is a max height of 6'6", they don't check. If you can buckle up, they let you ride.

MF and TTD were perfectly comfortable. Maverick was a little rough on my shoulders. Mantis was very uncomfortable.

Found this post from 2004 for MF, sorry to bring up the dead horse again, but would this still be a good guess, i am going next week and by this i will be good to go. 40 jeans, wearing a belt. 6 Ft 5 270lbs mostly beer gut and shoulders.

anything over 40' jeans is questionable(40" shouldnt be a problem unless your really squezzing into them) but 42 and up is really questionable

MF seatbelts hold a girth of 46' and you need at least one inch of slack...so you say to yourself i wear 44 jeans i can get that and the 2 inchs extra slack and be right at the 46 grith right? wrong.. if your border line, measure yourself...measure where the seatbelt would be not your waist, the uper leg, tight region..mine is like 42-43 inchs and i was able to ride.

6'2''
280 pounds
37" waist

46" chest

I usually have people shocked that I weigh 280 thinking im much less, so proportioned pretty evenly.
Going in a few days and from looking at replies I am expecting it to be borderline.

Let us know what you find out after your trip. Your around the same measurements as my brother, he was unable to ride a good many rides at Universal Orlando. It wasnt so much his belly, but he has large shoulders. He is a big boy. We are going for the first time in October for Halloweekends. Good luck!

When you wish upon a star.....Makes no difference where you are!

Instead of starting a new thread, I am going to throw out a hypothetical statement, that almost for sure would not go over well, at any park.

I mentioned to a worker, that I am borderline riding MF and TTD, I haven't tried riding them the second half of the season, because I have gained about 5 pounds. And without help I cannot get into Wicked Twister on my own... I do fit into Wicked Twister, when being squished in with the workers help.

Anyways, The worker asked if I could buy a Seat Belt Extender CLIP, you know, one end would clip into the seat side of the seat belt, and the other end would fit into the belt side... Artificially lengthening the belt by (2) to (3) inches.

It would be small enough to carry around with you, and you could unclip it after every ride.... (I am going to patent it... just kidding) :)

This is just a fun idea. What do you think?

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

What do I think? I think you're not telling the truth. A worker at Wicked Twister would NEVER ask you to buy a seat belt extender. If you can't fit even after being assisted by a ride host, you simply cannot ride. Sorry.

No, No, No, A worker a Cedar Point never told me to do that... I do not work at Cedar Point.. Some guy at my work mentioned a seat belt extender, and I thought it was an interesting idea, if it was possible, it was just an entertaining idea. :) Sorry for the confusion.

Your mom is to fat to ride TTD.'s avatar

I think thats a really good idea. I would bet money the park wouldnt let you do it, but it is a great idea.

Let's Get Weird.

I agree the park wouldn't allow it. I know some parks have seat belt extenders at certain rides. Like at Hersheypark, Comet has them.

6'

270 lb

42" waist

I can ride most rides. Not the good ones though :(

2008 visits = 38, 2009 = 19, 2010 = 11, 2011 = 14, 2012 = 10, 2013 = 14, 2014 = 14, 2015= 13, 2016 = 11, 2017 = 5, 2018 = 3

OH! I see what your saying now. Sorry if I came off harsh too. I just read what I said and it seemed pretty rude. Anyways, I agree that would be a lot easier on everybody if they allowed that. It is a good idea because somebodys weight shouldn't prevent them from having fun at the park

BUT! The thing is, the park doesn't have a say in how long the seat belts can be, its all up to the manufacturer. Think about it...most of the restricting rides at cedar point are intamins!

If it's all up to the maufacturer, how is it I can ride any other Intamin umpulse coaster in the country and not even come close to ever riding Wicked Twister. Let alone I can ride other Intamin coasters at six flags parks, like Bizarro and never have to worry about what length the seat belts are that year. Granted I have no problem riding MF or TTD, but I don't agree about the manufacturer thing at all.

The seat belt extender would not go over so well as rides have diferrwnt types of bealts and no one would want to buy a kit of several extenders AND carry them all day. What would be better is they provide them for free at the ride,,, that way all they would really need is two per ride since they probably wouldn't need to to use more tha one or two at a time and that way no one would have to vary anything around, spend more money and the company can insure that there working properly because they own them. If someone else brought it there is no guarantee it is in working order which would put the park at risk, but if the park supplied them then they wouldn't need to worry about checking each persons personal extender to see if it's in working order.

Just a idea.. But I highly doubt that will EVER happen regardless

Well sir, I can't answer your question. I'm just letting you know that the manufacturer tells Cedar Point how long the seat belts have to be as a safety feature. It's a fact whether you agree with it or not.

Trust me Alexander, if amusement parks were allowed to use those, I think each ride would need more than 2 extenders!

I've been tons of times, I'm 5'6" and 250 lbs, female. It was a bit tight across the chest at times, but other than that I have had no problems. I have a tall-and-wide male friend and we rode together just fine. My sister is about 5'6" 315 lb and can barely ride anything though.

Ok this is gonna sound just terrible but its true

Last trip, 10/15 and 10/16 2011

Height 6'3"

Weight 290

Waist 44

Fit, Yes all except raptor which cant seem to close on my shoulders TTD and MF were tight fits though. Everything else comfortable

Also, sometimes the ride ops at the entrance will advise that the actual train belts have "stretched alittle" and say it might be worth a try. I always try the test seats.

Report from last weekend, 10/21 & 10/22. 5' 10", 265lbs, 48" chest male.

Friday, after 2 beers and a unhealthy lunch, TTD was a good inch from making it, no dice. Rode Raptor and Marverick with no issues, although ride op had to click the belt for me. Needed to change seat on Power Tower since harness would attach but wouldn't lock, glad park was not busy and ride ops were nice enough to let me do that.

Saturday I was bound and determined to ride either TTD or MF with the early entry we had. MF was up, so with the natural weight loss during the night and not eating or drinking anything, plus wearing shorts vs. jeans and cold weather gear, I could not attach the belt on MF myself, but ride op did it with ease! Never tried TTD as wait lines were 2 hours plus.

Sorry for reintroducing this topic, but I am going to Cedar Point tomorrow. Do you think I will be able to ride stuff?

Weight: 210-ish... (I dont weigh myself due to anxiety)
Height: 5 foot 5
Waist: 38-40 inches.
Hips: 48 inches
Bust: 48 inches

I was fine last year, but I believe I have gained a little bit.

Also what is a good thing to wear? Like would yoga pants be a good idea, as it further constricts your legs, or should I just do a lot of loose fitting clothes?
