Able to ride. About 2 inches of slack with empty pockets.
The rule is two fingers of slack, so thats about an inch, but they use their fingers to measure that. Your waist size is not as important as the size of ur lower body, mainly thighs, as the seatbelt goes across ur legs mainly.
Go Ravens and Lakers, don't worry, we'll bounce back.
X at SFMM is frickin awesome, it's a must ride for all coaster fans.

Dunno yet if I can ride...
Got back from CP the other day, and the answer is...
YES & NO. Tried the test seat the first day I was there, couldn't even buckle it. The two ends were barely 1/4" apart, just couldn't get that last bit of give. The guy at the gate was very nice, he tried to "guide" the buckle, just wouldn't go. Wednesday I tried again b/c the wait was only 30 minutes and it buckled and I pulled 2" no problem. Had a great front seat ride, MF is still the best in my book. After I rode, it rained for a good hour. Afterward, I went back, was asked to try the test seat, and couldn't get the belt to buckle. So in short, if it's close, try again later. I dunno if the belt stretches or if I had just lost a lot of water weight being so hot out, but I'm glad I went back and tried again. I'm trying to lose a little weight so this won't be an issue next time... Oh, and TTD was looking for an inch of slack all week. That was no problem.
Any thoughts on if they really repositioned the belts or shortened them on MF? Last year I could ride it no problem. Last year I had to struggle to buckle WT. This year I marathoned WT and never had any problem, it was snug but I got it fastened without struggle. See above about MF... So my guess would be I'm just a touch smaller than last year based on WT restraints, but why couldn't I buckle the belt on MF? Weird...

Yeah, I guess you could say I'm a pear-shape *grins*
I was able to ride the MF and TTD without even being asked to try the test seat...which is really surprising to me, since it was a rather tight fit for the MF, more so than the TTD. I must look smaller than I really am. I didn't have much slack in the belt, but the attendant DID ask me to yank some more on the seat belt. Guess I was fine, b/c I got to ride. AND I had my fanny pack on (I have learned to wiggle it up so it rides higher on my body while on the ride...this trick may work for some of you that are also pears instead of apples)
I gotta say that this has given me more impetus to exercise and eat right this year...so it's not all bad. They're gonna lose some money on the concessions this year...gotta give up the hot pepper cheese-on-a-stick, elephant ears and ice cream.

I rode top thrill dragster with no problem, but it was a tight fit .
For Millennium Force I only needed 2 more inches of the belt and it would've fit.
About a week later, I tried the TTD test seat and got it latched and yanked and yanked. A ride op by the test seat said I was OK. Later that night, I rode, but the ride op on the platform asked me to do some more yanking to achieve the required slack. And off we went.
A week later (about a week and a half ago), I tried the MF test seat and got conflicting judgments from the ride ops at the test seat. A girl said I was good to go. Two other guys said there was no guarantee I could ride. I later tried the ride and fit with little problem.
What have I learned from all this? The following:
-- First of all, the more lightly dressed I was, the better I fit. On opening day, I wore jeans and a sweatshirt (it was chilly but the time I rode). When I couldn't fasten the test seat belt at the later date, I also was in jeans and a sweatshirt. When I eventually made it, I was wearing gym shorts and a light T-shirt. I left my wallet in my trunk since I didn't want anything pushing me up farther in the seat.
-- Dragster is an easier fit. I tried the test seat on opening day and got the belt latched after trying for about 3 minutes. I didn't even try to ride that day since I figured that the folks on the platform wouldn't be interested in waiting for me while I struggled with the belt. And this was before I even knew about the slack rule, so I would have been outta luck anyway, probably.
-- Pulling on the belt, whether on the test seat or the ride itself, is an art form. The belt, which doesn't seem to move very easily, shouldn't be pulled across your torso, in the most logical direction (go figure). Instead, grab the loop and pull straight up and maybe even a little in the direction away from you. And yank it back and forth vigorously while you pull.
-- If it's been raining, the belts on the test seats are harder to pull on. This, I believe, led to the conflicting feedback I received on the MF test seat the one day (I got to the park after a nasty T-storm). Remember that the test seats are exposed the elements at all times. The belts on the rides themselves are subjected to the drying process that comes with going 93 or 120 mph. I find that the belts on the actual rides are easier to tighten under such conditions.
-- Dressing lightly is a good solution and the best bet if you are borderline on fitting. But one must wonder (especially me) what it will be like the last weekend of HalloWeekends wearing gym shorts and only a T-shirt. The solution in that case apparently is to keep trying to shed pounds and dressing appropriately for the weather.

I was asked into the test seat, and had a struggle with connecting the belt. Once in, the nice lady taught me how to grap the loop, and shift it left to right to get the required slack. She said it was up to me if I waited, since it was close.
2 of the 3 times I rode, the ride op barely even looked. The third time the op used a "2 finger" test, to which I had to get more slack before I was on.
Apparently people are getting by the test seat, since I did see 2 people asked to leave while waiting for the front seat. If you are big like me, I advise doing the test seat, even if you are not asked. It could save you a bunch of time.

I don't know my waistline in inches, but I wear size 8 pants/shorts because I like my pants a loose.
I don't know my thighs but I've never had a problem with my legs getting stuck.
Needless to say, I have never had a problem on any ride.
