How big are you? Can you ride?

I doubt he gained weight if he wore the exact same pair of jeans.

Then why is he the only one who thinks the belts were shortened?

I saw 1 or 2 people per train being turned away yesterday while waiting for the front car. I'm surprised that many got past the employee watching the entrance because they weren't even remotely close to fitting. Of course there were just as many who didn't look big at all and they still couldn't get the slack. We had handstamps and bypassed the line but the people behind us said they had a 3 hour wait. I'm not sure if this was true but I know all 3 trains were stacking routinely. If this is any indication capacity this season will be just as horrible as last season. :(

I'm going to be pissed if MF has been shortened again.

I fit just fine in everything else, the way I did last season.

I was also informed by a couple employees the belts were shorter.

My girlfriend, who is skinny as a twig, used to be able to pull enough slack to pull the belt all the way to the left so it'd 'double up'. She's lost weight, and she couldn't double it up anymore.

I'm not just making this up. Those belts are 3 inches shorter this year.

I know for sure that the belts on Millie are ALOT smaller then the test seat. My fiance and I went over to Millie so I got into the test and fit with1 inch of slack. I even had a staff member come over and check and he said you are good to go. So I had to watch my kids while she went on. About hour later I got to the loading dock, got on and then I had ALOT of trouble getting the belt on. I couldn't buckle it at all. The guy that check me on the test seat was over helping me try to buckleit also but no go.

But why is it I was 30 lbs heavier last yr (295 waist 42 5'11) and had no probs getting on Millie and TTD? But this yr I'm 265 and a size 40 and couldn't even ride?? I'm not going to understand at all why Intamin and Cedar Point went with this rule.

See, and i'm a lot smaller than that. I'm not going to say that I'm exactly skinny, but I only wear a 36 waist pair of jeans. And I'm around 220-225.

It seems like it's to the point where anyone who is much more than skinny as a twig will have troubles riding.

Probably maintenance can't figure (again) out how to get the test seat belt and all belts on the ride the same length, which is absolutely ridiculous. Last year I could pull as much as 3” of slack or only 1” depending on the seat, and if we read through this thread many people report the same thing.

I have a feeling the test seat is what the length really should be, but the actual length on the ride varies and many end up on the short end.

Suggestion to Cedar Point: Perhaps on Physics day the grade school kiddies can show you how to consistently measure :) (harsh but deserving)

It's good to hear that I'm not the only one who thought the belts were even shorter this year. Last fall, even with a heavy jacket, I could still easily buckle it myself with the slack. Yesterday, with only a thin jacket on, it took a lot of pulling and a little help from the ride op to fasten it. For what it's worth, I was on the yellow train, and I also found that TTD's belt fit much better than it did last year.

I found TTD's belt fit just fine. Just like last year, I could pull a few inches of slack and had no problem buckling it.

I sat second to last row, right side on the Blue Train (which was kicking some major butt by the way!) for the first train out yesterday morning.

Well I guess I might have a shot this year at TTD. If I'm lucky, I might get a ride on MF.

Am I the only one thinking that another year of the same could have been avoided had CP taken the initiative and the money to retrofit the seats?

You aren't the only one. I'm going to be really annoyed if things don't change.

Because now apparently they're allowed to help guests fasten their seatbelts. So now everyone that can just barely fit will be extra load time.

I don't think they'll ever hit interval again.

Well day 1 might not have been the best indication. But if the trains are still stacking 2 weeks from now, and the upper-echelons of management still haven't taken action or even noticed, I think it's safe to say a lot of individuals are gonna be SOL.

Last year, I weighed 290, and had a 48" inch waist, and maybe got an inch or an inch & half from buckling the seatbelt. I now weigh 230 and have a 36-38" inch waist. I wonder how much of a difference this weight lose will effect whether or not I can ride MF and TTD this year.

I'll just have to wait and see this Friday.

I went on opening day and sat in the test seat and fit fine with one inch of slack and the ride host said it was ok for me to ride but when I got onto the yellow train I couldn't get it buckled at all. I'm the same size as last year 260lbs, 38" waist. I reported this issue to park operations and the woman there said that she thought the problem was fixed because maintenance was supposed to make sure that all of the belts were the same length to the test seat. So I filled out a comment form and she is going to send it to management so hopefully this seatbelt length issue will be solved but I highly doub't it. You would think that cedar point could order all the seat belts from Intamin to make sure all the belts are the same size so there isn't a problem or maybe cedar point is to cheap to do that so instead of ordering new belts from the manufacture they measure and cut them down and try to be accurate.

Considering their eagerness to address the complaints last year, I'm sure they're putting it at the top of their list.

Hmm....something isn't right. Anyone else have a problem this year? And also has anyone with a 40" waist gotten on this year without trouble?

Wow, that’s pretty poor action by management and maintenance. She said they new they had a problem and it should be fixed? There shouldn’t even be a problem! How tough is it to figure out these two things need to be the same length? Did they forget to call the meeting where they discuss this? “hmmm, who thinks making the belts on the ride the proper length and the same as the test seat? Tough choice!” :)
