Also, is "SteVe" really that bad? (Though I ususally use "SV".)

Yes.

Writing "SV" is a convenient shorthand that saves a second or two of typing. Writing "SteVe" come across as a desperate attempt to demonstrate one's "cleverness".

Such an attempt would be infinitely more cringe-worthy in a spoken conversation.

If Millennium is "Millie" and Magnum is "Maggie", why can't Steel Vengeance be "Steve" or "SteVe"? By the way I prefer "SV."

I personally love the name Steve.

Where do you park for WCO2018?

Are you supposed to park at the front of the park, main entrance or park in the back by Cedar Point shores and come through the Magnum / Resort Gate.

To be fair, when I see “Maggie” in regards to Magnum, I tend to cringe.

But the heck with it...call it whatever you want honestly. We all know the name. It’s not going to affect my ride experience in anyway.

I just wanted to point out something amazing I discovered today on the internet! It's this really amazing resource that shows exactly what you're "entitled" to as a passholder at CP!

https://www.cedarpoint.com/tickets-passes/passholder-benefits

Tons of cool stuff! Check it out! I mean I could be overlooking stuff but I unfortunately didn't see WCO or Media Events listed..

Oh please, do you believe EVERYTHING you read on the internet? ;)

Me too, I cringe when I hear or see the rides referred to as "Millie" or "Maggie". "SteVe" is the worst one yet.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I sometimes use "Maggie", but usually in a rather jocular, "affectionate" way... usually when joking with my friend who isn't such as huge fan of Magnum. But I don't use it all the time.

I very rarely use "Millie."

It remains to be seen how much I say "SteVe."

In addition to that, CoasterMania is the event for coaster enthusiasts, you have that to look forward to. Tickets for media day? Give me a break, I think you have the wrong idea of media day. It's for working media to take video and report on the ride to a wide ranging audience. It's not a day of fun and enjoyment for coaster enthusiasts. Do you realize that media day is important to the park to promote the coaster to people who can actually get the word out instead of people who post "this coaster is great" along with a selfie on Facebook?

Yes, they are for media, and whenever the park does a media day or photo/film shoot, they say that it's not ERT. But on GateKeeper's Media Day, they did a great job giving us plenty of ride time while giving the media plenty of opportunities to film. Did any media organizations complain about enthusiasts being there? Because IIRC, they had a whole front left wing seat set up with a light and camera (as they have every right to do) so the media could quickly get access while the guests waited for other rows.

Side note about one of my favorite memories of GK Media Day: they also let enthusiasts into backstage areas... not the "low zones", of course, but the high areas like under the camelback were open, which was one of my favorite moments. This doesn't apply as much to SV since the queue will probably allow you to access the best parts of the infield, and the outside of the ride is easily photographable from the entrance midway, Perimeter Road, and zooming in from the entrance of the planning building's parking lot (which is usually open, although I rarely was comfortable spending much more time there than I needed to for pictures because it's not exactly a guest lot.) I basically photographed and filmed Mean Streak from every angle I could in order to toss together a tribute video, and I assume SV will have the same, if not more, photo opportunities. In addition, most of the ride in the structure is a dangerous "low zone" with the third lap being easily accessible. But for Gatekeeper, it worked, and it was one of my fondest memories of that day.

You'll park in the main parking lot....park as close to the front gate as you can....especially if weather is iffy. You won't want to walk all the way down the parking lot if you don't have to.

All the parking info is printed on the front of each ticket. Right Side...about half way down. Tellls you where to be and when to be there.

Be sure to be on time for your scheduled group.

Clark Griswald disagrees with you.

What happens if you are late?

....to be early is to be on time,

To be on time is to be late,

To be late is to be left behind!

If you're late you aren't guaranteed to be able to participate. If your group has already left, you are likely out of luck. Best plan is to be there about a 1/2 hour early.

Well, here we are. It's now February. Still a ways to go before Opening Day. Even Winter Chill Out seems far away since we're all anxious for it, but... one month closer. It'll be May in the blink of an eye.

In the meantime, where is Perpetual Obsession with his yearly coaster bracket game?

Particularly given that "Maggie" was actually the name not of the ride, but of the seagull that nested one summer on top of one of the tunnels!

Ill prob bother my gf by calling it SteVe (like stevie) only because my name is steve, and Ill come up with some not so clever riding SteVe jokes. Otherwise yes that is a stupid thing to call it and no one should do that.

Just keep it simple and call it Steel V.

Also back to the millennium and magnum comments: I had a guy on my ride crew one time who said if he ever has 2 daughters, he’d name one of them Millie and the other one Maggie, as probably would I, lol.
