Pete - No reason to insult me. I’m asking for you to attend, too! I’m certainly not groveling, just requesting the Park shows us kindness like they have in the past with the GK media day. I’ve been fortunate to visit three media days at Cedar Point, all of them super fun! Of course I’d like that experience with SteVen.
I didn't mean to insult you, but when you are saying the same thing over and over it sure gets boring and annoying to read. I'm sure the park already knows what they will do with media day, why don't you just wait and see what happens? If enthusiasts are not invited, the ride will be there to ride when the park opens to the public, it will still be an awesome ride.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I stand by my idea that it would be to Cedar Point’s benefit to invite PointBuzzers to the media event.
You can stand by it, but it won't make you any less wrong. Also, saying it over and over again won't make it happen unless you're wearing ruby slippers.

No, you shouldn’t. Nobody had a wedding. And if the wedding stunt was to be rescheduled for a future season you’d be included and it would go without notice. Which is how it should be. (But you knew that)
And I know you were being facetious, but everyone here should remember that things today are never the way they used to be and things today are different from what’s to come in the future.
The much-revered Gatekeeper media day was a rare and unexpected treat. We were treated well that day but I’d be willing to bet that the park regretted it. If not, then for sure by the time Pipe Scream rolled around and the invitees acted like it was something that was owed and in turn expected it to be an on-going thing.
Just curious.. You feel entitled a pass to go to media day, and the park also owes you a wedding. Anything else? Maybe a yacht in the marina?

Perhaps a 10% off coupon to the Breakers Starbucks can quell that ravenous entitlement.

It may have also been thought of as continuing because KI had a very similar event for Banshee.
So back to Winter Chill Out, I was wondering if they have any renders or plans drawn up yet for the new Sandcastles or Boardwalk?

No way! They sell STIMULANTS! Just as bad as street pharmacists my man...

We know how well those ruby slippers turned out.
The argument that Cedar Point "should" invite us for media day, because other parks in the chain have recently done it, is silly. For a few reasons. First, Kings Island's most recent Media Day event was for Mystic Timbers, and they only invited one club to attend. The crowd was very manageable as far as I can tell.
The more important part is that Cedar Point has a much bigger fan base than nearly any regional park, and their fans are significantly more passionate (as is very clear). In my opinion, the risks significantly outweigh the reward.
Speaking of that.. the other argument is that enthusiasts "create a lot of buzz." That's also silly. Each one of us is likely reaching a few hundred people on our social media, many of which are already coaster fans. But the park brings in one guy from WGN, and he reaches millions of people on a Chicago news broadcast. There's nothing to be gained for the park, other than throwing a bone to die-hard fans, which it does plenty of already. But apparently that's still not enough for some of us.

Maybe for the Boardwalk but I don't believe they've announced new Sand Castle Suites or what (if anything is replacing the property) at this point. Now they may at WCO...and if they do it may be showing renderings and/or plans.

Being tired, I gave up at 12:10, thinking I'd just get them in the morning. Didn't happen, and quite a shock they sold out that fast. Good for Cedar Point and A Kid Again! Do I feel a need to be made "whole" (whatever that is?)? NO! Some people need to grow up. And I'm drinking caffeinated coffee while I type this... horrors!

They could do limited tickets to keep media day from being swamped (at the risk of selling out quickly, but that sometimes happens. I have quite little to complain about WCO.)
Also, KI is not too far behind CP in attendance. It's a massive park. I imagine its enthusiast events are similarly attended (CoasterStock is quite large as well.) And ACE is the largest club, they would probably be at least a plurality of the people at an all-club media day.
Also, is "SteVe" really that bad? (Though I ususally use "SV".)
I just wanted to point out something amazing I discovered today on the internet! It's this really amazing resource that shows exactly what you're "entitled" to as a passholder at CP!
https://www.cedarpoint.com/tickets-passes/passholder-benefits
Tons of cool stuff! Check it out! I mean I could be overlooking stuff but I unfortunately didn't see WCO or Media Events listed..
In addition to that, CoasterMania is the event for coaster enthusiasts, you have that to look forward to. Tickets for media day? Give me a break, I think you have the wrong idea of media day. It's for working media to take video and report on the ride to a wide ranging audience. It's not a day of fun and enjoyment for coaster enthusiasts. Do you realize that media day is important to the park to promote the coaster to people who can actually get the word out instead of people who post "this coaster is great" along with a selfie on Facebook?

But Pete, what better people to allow attend than those complaining about things that don't go their way?!?! *eyeroll* They can talk about how they were invited to a media event and they got to ride SV 23404 times. They can tell their 100 Facebook friends who after a day will forget about it.
I don't know about you, but those news people reaching millions of people just don't care about the park and the ride as much as they do. The News folks won't create enough buzz about it like they could with their social media.
