^^ It was a bit of exaggeration. If they don't have it open by then, I would be very shocked, unless another major problem arises before it opens.

Wonder where they are getting the "around July 4th" date for Knott's Windseeker? Just a guess?
Edited to add part about Knott's so you don't have to hunt for it on that ridiculous page:
Knott's Berry Farm ---- Active and retiredmilitary personnel get in free on Memorial Day weekend (May 29-30),and can buy up to six discount admission tickets for family for$31.99; WindSeeker sky ride opens this summer around July 4;

This video is even more scary, these jackwads could have easily dropped their device and hurt someone. I guess there truly is no way to stop these fools from doing this. Do parents teach their children anything? I am so disgusted, I guess I just need to stay off youtube.
I'm a little shocked that there's nothing covering the queue because of this. Any other place in the park where a ride operates over a walkway there is something above it to protect pedestrians from potential falling objects. Does anyone know if those white poles over the queue are just for decoration or future canopies?
Also, any thoughts about why they're doing so much testing at night?
They put the shades up the other day. And they're not testing sadly, they're still doing the modifications in preparation for testing.

Thanks for the update on the shades. I went on Tuesday and the...decorative poles looked like they were finished and were not part of anything else. Good to know they added that.
Well, they must be fairly confident they've made all the major modifications they need to if they put the shades up. If they had more to do, the shades would be just one more thing in the way and/or have the potential of getting damaged while working near them.
I hope that made sense, i'm really tired right now.

lol I can sympathize, a grueling 12 hr work day and I'm still on. :)
My guess on the shades was that they just wanted them out of the way. They finished installing the PA system on sunday so I guess the shades were naturally next. Though I thought on Monday that they might have finished the main modification since they seemed to be focusing on the proxy sensors. I thought that was a sign that testing was a day or 2 away. Guess I was wrong. :P

It's hard to tell, but WindSeeker is up in the air. Not sure if it's testing because it's hard to tell if it's rotating!
I figured those were for shade, after I noticed that Dragster had the same type of poles.
Except WindStalled's has lights on them, which is pretty cool.

If you're referring to the webcam, that image is from 9:59. I'm pretty sure the maintenance guys have been done for the night. As thus, there has been no rotation yet as they cannot start rotating/testing until those modifications are done. They still have mini "work shops" set up on the gondola too and spinning the gondola might be a bad idea with all that stuff where it is. :)

Is anyone else staring to feel like Cedar Point is in the Money Pit?
Cedar Point: "How much longer 'till we can open the ride?"

Here's a simulation I found. No wonder they need those shocks on the arms, look at all that movement!

I also had no idea that you have to jump on while the ride is still moving. :)

It goes half-way up the tower. It sits. It goes all the way up. It sits. It goes back down. Pretty lights. Dawn breaks. Half way up the tower. It sits. All the way up the tower. It sits. Back down again. Pretty lights. Dawn breaks, and the cycle repeats.
14% of the season is gone, and there is a pretty lawn ornament on the beach. Glad those lights are so darn purty at night on the webcam. Such splendor.
Promoter of fog.
I'm starting to wonder if Windseeker will actually open later in the season then Shoot The Rapids did.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
