Lose the question mark and you have a statement cause that's exactly what it is. ;)
On a side note, I wish they'd stop moving the pieces around soo much.:) I thought we we're going vertical toady when I saw that the large crane and smaller crane were both strapped to one of the pieces.

It sure is taking them a lot longer than it did at kings island.
Maybe the wind off the lake has played a role in that.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Plus they've been doing things in a different order than Kings Island. Looks like they have all of the "top stuff" already constructed on the ground before the tower is even completed. Kings Island did most of that after their tower was already up.
Another possible reason for the faster assembly at KI may be due to the fact that there didn't seem to be any tower section staging area at KI. Trucks would deliver the tower sections alongside Racer, where they'd be unloaded from the truck and installed on the tower.
That CP has enough room to unload and store all the tower sections within reach of the crane might lessen the need to rapidly install each piece. Trucks can simply drop off the pieces and head out to their next job site.

Given the fiasco of last year's new ride not being open for business at the start of the season, I'm surprised I don't see a lot more bodies than I currently see working on this thing. I looked at the cams at 8:00 am, and saw very little activity. Granted, there could be a lot going on outside the camera range. Still, if I was the project manager, I would have that ride near completion (weather willing) and ready for testing come 5/1.

Weather Willing being the key phrase here. I give them props for even being able to erect such towering rides during the off season in Sandusky with the weather there.
Im sure they want the tower up just as quickly as we do. I mean having that crane on site has to be REALLY expensive so Im sure they want to get things done quickly so they can give it back to the rental company.
There's still plenty of time till opening day to have this thing ready. They already took care of the top ufo piece and the top hoist assembly (or whatever it's called). And they're almost done with the counter weights. I'm betting they'll start of the gondola sections before the tower is even completed. Once they have the things that need to be hoisted to the top done, Im betting vertical construction will fly.
Oh and weather permitting of course.

The CP project probably is not on as much of a time crunch. King's Island opens in less than 2 weeks. Also, the area had very high winds yesterday, not something that lends itself to assembling pieces of the tower.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
