Did anyone notice that the operator booth has been constructed and is right next to the park entrance? I could have sworn that was not there a day or two ago...
Anyways though, I guess that answers the question of where it will be placed.
R.I.P. Mr. Scott
^ ^ I noticed it yesterday. I had a feeling that was where it was going because of that cement slab that was placed right there. I can't wait to see the rest of the area around the ride finished.
Lastly, I wonder how the boardwalk is going to be. When we exit the beach gate, are we going to be able to turn right and walk around Windseeker to Wicked Twister? To me, that's how it looks like on the map, and that's what it looks like so far. Do you guys know what I mean?
From the 2011 map, it looks like the boardwalk may wrap around Windseeker and continue to somewhere in front of the aquatic stadium.
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
Look's like part of the carrage is being put together to the right of the ride. Look for the red steel part.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
The boardwalk will wrap around Windseeker to allow for access to the jetski rental building that will be staying in it's original location. I think there is also going to be a new enterance down to the beach in this area.

Looks like as soon as the scaffolding goes up, the gondola will start to take shape.

Just an FYI.....WT has been testing in the background of Windseeker Cam 1 this morning. Love it! :)

Awesome, and if anyone would like to know kings island is installing the seats this afternoon on there webcam
I WILL ALWAYS KICK THE SKY.
Something tells me that Windseeker wont be open opening day,3 weeks away, there is just way to much to do,and then it has to be inspected, and with all the rain with delays.Anyone else think this way?
King Island kicked it in to gear, the last week. They open next week. Cedar Point looks right on target with King Islands schedule. just 2 weeks behind. - I ain't worried. . . :)
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
If the electrical components are all ready to be hooked up and ready to go, then I have faith they will have it open in time for May 13. All they have to do now (from what I can tell atleast) is install the gondola and finish concrete pouring/whatever themeing they have planned around the ride.
As long as they can knock out smaller things when they cant get up the tower due to weather, then all should be well. Plus a lot of the components are being set next to site. And the carriage frame pieces are being worked on now so installation should be quick. When they get a few good days and the scaffolding is up the tower, I'm guessing they'll start with the carriage.

Ok, I dont know about the other optimists on here, but I'm actually starting to get a bit worried for both parks. This weeks weather is really going to make things difficult. For one, I'm wondering how badly it'll set back the instillation of the last few arms of KI's Windseeker as well as it's testing (what's required) before the park opens saturday.
Second, I'm wondering how badly it'll set back work at CP. We only have 3 weeks left and the weather set back work being done on Fri. I wonder if they plan on working in the rain (if the can at all) or just working late late nights on the few good days that are forecasted (IF those forecasts hold true). I'm actually starting to think a late opening due to this weather might not be so far fetched for both parks.......as much as I don't want to think that.
I'm still trying to be optimistic but it's starting to become hard to be.

You know Adam, I was thinking the same thing. I've been watching the webcams here and there between school and work and since that last piece on top was put up, they haven't had a chance to really work on Windseeker too much. Hopefully this week won't be so bad weather wise. I'm just glad it's not snow that would really delay them. I think they can work on some things in the park such as putting trains back on and testing when the rain actually stops during certain times, but as far as Windseeker, they are having a tough time with the rain. Just keep being optimistic!! :)
Has anyone else noticed that it appears the footers for light fixtures (?) appear to be in the middle of the last queue?
Bill Abele
If you look closely, it's actually "encased" by queue rails. So you move along the outside of the light footers/fixtures.

Talk about cutting it close at KI ... I noticed a post on facebook that said adds for windseeker have been changed from opening day to Opening spring 2011. Can anyone confirm this ?
There seems to be so many folks standing around the KI cam1 for the past couple days like they are waiting for something before they can actually do something... I do see lots of wire being fed into the tube. I could be way off base but something doesn't seem right to me.
I'm surprised no one mentioned the height requirement going up from 48 to 52 casually through the winter.
