Wicked Twister Down Alot

My aunt was there yesterday. She said it opened in the afternoon, but it was up and down more than Magnum's bunny hops. I'm sure they'll get everything worked out soon.

Six Flags: More fun than an anal probe!

I noticed they got the Crane back out near the WT...i guess they still haven't worked everything out yet.

its still running
It was running reliably the time I was there. Reliable by it's own standards anyway. I think this is the end of the major problems.

I was at CP for a couple hours on Saturday night, and I managed to sneak a ride in after a 15 minute wait. Their dispatches aren't as fast anymore, and I noticed that the wheels have started sqeaking through the twists. It may be my imagination, but I think the brakes are getting louder as well..I just hope it doesn't end up with that nails on a chalkboard sound like Superman at SFWoA.

As soon as I got off WT I heard "This train will not be loading" and a massive groan from the crowd. Even the general public can be overheard talking about Wicked Twister being "the ride that's always broken" and a lot of people got out of line mumbling about it not being safe to ride. If they're having that big of a problem keeping it running consistently even for an hour or two at a time, they need to just close the ride for the entire day and work the bugs out of it before reopening. People were getting freaked out or downright frustrated when the ride "broke" several times just while they waited in a 20 minute line. Poor WT..I hope it's back to its old self soon. :(

People get much more frustrated if it closes while they are in line rather than the whole day.

Legalize it.

I didn't see it down at all today, except for JCC ERT in the morning. In addition, it seemed to me like they were hitting faster intervals then earlier in the season.

On Saturday around 9 P.M., the ride was down for about 20 minutes as a train (fully loaded) was stopped all the way down the track just before the forward tower. I didn't see how or hear why it stopped, but maintenance briefuly inspected the train and then brought it back into the station as it normally is after a ride cycle using the LIMs. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know exactly why or how the train could of stopped in that position?

Someone pressed the E-Stop maybe?

Unless you start first thing in the morning.

The train can get stopped there also when a bird, bug, piece of paper, etc. sets off curtain sensors. When that happens though it only takes a minute to park the train back in the station unless something when wrong.
I think it was mentioned in another thread that there was someone that threw something through the sensors, which of course triggers an immediate e-stop. Thankfully, this fool was ejected from the park.

Why are those sensors there again???....and yea..i hope that piece of *Scum* did get thrown out of the park. Its bad enough to see the Coaster being down so much...somebody goes along and does that.

That Crane near the WT...it looks like its been visiting the Rear spike pretty often....I think even every night...probably just to check how the Spike is doing after the train riding on it all day. you could see the tracks in the sand from it.

I wasn't really watching these past few days....was there any major downtime on the WT lasting more than an hour?

Those sensors are to protect people on the platform. Anyone in that area would be too close to the moving train, so the ride shuts down to prevent a possible incident of someone being hit by the train.

Yet what happens when the trains coming through the station from the reverse tower? It's not like its going to stop on the rear spike.

I have been watching the webcam for the last 20 minutes (no, not watching, just checking on it every time it refreshes) to see if it has been running and I haven't seen the ride operate once. Maybe this is just one of its down times of the day. By the way, it is about noon at the point (according to the webcam)
Heh... I'm sure it will at least slow down as much as possible with the use of the LIMs... it would be interesting to see what actually happens in that case though.
