HAHA....yea that was funny....i don't think there was a point to that...probably the guy doing it just to make it look like he was doing something. But the welding did go on for a while....i was watching it on webcam...Then they shut it off :(

acctually...i haven't been here for "only a day"...i've been here for over a month already...i know whats been going on...i am just on a new account...i am the one that started this forum...and i am not "annoying people" its not like i'm yelling at you...if you don't want to...then you don't have to read it...i'm just providing information.

Checking out the webcam, it looks like WT is finally back up and running! :) Let's hope that all this time was dedicated to making sure that whatever happpened (most likely the stress fracture) will not happen again.

Oh Joy! I haven't screwed in like a week.

I wonder even after all of this that section of track will be replaced in the off season if that's even feasible.

This past weekend I was in Sandusky for a graduation and someone told me that a rep from Intamin MUST stay at CP until WT can run for 3 days straight with no problems. Can anyone confirm this? If its true I hope that guy is enjoying his stay at the park!

Well, I haven't seen the Intamin field engineer (the guy who usually wears blue jeans and a black vest you see working on the ride) in some time. I think he went home long before this happened. I'm thinking he left a day or two before the alignment problems which closed it down for most of the day. Up until then it was running OK.

They gave the Intamin guy a blue tag ID. I think they should have made him a sliver tag :)

I have just gotten a response from CP about the Wicked twister....i didn't really get any info on what was the problems...but this is what was in the e-mail:

As is the case with any new ride, adjustments must be made to achieve optimal performance. Those adjustments may temporarily close the ride for brief periods of time, but it is re-opened as soon as possible. Wicked Twister is now running at full capacity.

Hopefully the wicked twister will be up when i go to Cp again next week.

Well I was there today, And early in the morrning they were doing a little welding on the back tower. And about 1-2 it opened. So I got it line, and it was an hour and about 15 mins, and I was the next one to be on the ride(note this is the frist time I have been there is year) and they shut it down. At first it was "going to be shut down for a little bit, and we all should really wait." Then: "its going to be down for 30min." Then about 2 min. later is was going to be shut down for the rest of the day and we should all go to different rides. So I was a little more then hacked off, and of corse they didn't give us anything to get back in line to make it up for us. SO I felt like B*tching, I went into the park office place and said hey I have been wait 1 and 45min for this ride, And I really think we should get some kind of freeway pass it get back in the middle of the line(it better then nothing). So they said they can't give us anything like that, but they can give us a pass so we can go up the exit of any ride we want. Of corse we used this on the longest line in the park MF. Man you should have see the looks in people's eyes when we just walked right infornt of everyone. So even though I had to take maters into my own hand CP still came threw. THANKS CP for this and a Great Day! :)

Note: WT was back up around 4-5 and man was it a great ride! :) Also it ran for the rest of the day!

Is it me, or does the track welding operation seem to be going on quite reguarly? If it is, that means something is flawed about the design, or an outside factor is having a negative impact on the track. So what are some additional factors that would cause problems for Wicked Twister, and not any of the other 5 impulse coasters in the world?

Sand? Lake Erie Winds? You tell me, because I don't know...

I don't think its the Sand...or the Wind....but i think its just WAY tooooo much track up there....unsupported. maybe kater they would put some kind of supposts there....but the welding just can't continue like this...and them shuting down the ride all the time....its just not right.

I don't know much about the ride or why it's broken down, or even what the heck the mechanics are doing, "I'm just using a little common sense." ;)

Jes, remember though that the support structure used for Wicked Twister is somewhat unique. It could be something with this slightly different design and not wind, sand, etc. Although probably not - I'm sure they spent an eternity making sure it was perfect.

Today is CoasterMania right???....Is the WT down again....I been watchin it on webcam all day....Havent seen one train launch. I thought they were going to open it today.

I was at the park today... not for CM, but just the same... WT was down all day. I spoke to a couple of CM attendees around 5, who said that they heard that a part was to be flown in from Intamin. They didn't think the ride was going to be back up today. I hope they got a chance to ride... bad timing with CM and all. They even had WT sweatshirts on; they must have been fans.

I hope it's open on Monday, I have a WT, MF, Mantis, Magnum virgin comming to the park, so I really hope they can experience this great ride. It really sucks to hear it's been down alot, so far when I've been there it's been up and running no problem.
