What do you do for amusement park-like thrills during the off season?

Those are all good suggestions.

Come to think of it the Dayton (OH) Mall in their Food Court has that CP Gemini, and I think Blue Streak is on there too, POV video that you sit down in an arcade-style machine that moves (a little). They also used to have one at a Super Wal-Mart not too long ago. It's meant for kids. I never tried to sit in the seat.

I live near cleveland, ohio and in april I go to the IX center indoor amusement park.

This has always bugged me. Why don't they have the event in mid winter? Why wait till CP will be open the next month? I never bother to go because I figure, I might as well wait, the park is almost open. But I'm glad you enjoy it Miss Maverick.

PS: Anyone ever go to "The Christmas Story House" in Cleveland?

Good Morning America did a piece on Xmas in Branson, MO this morning. Lots of lights and festivities, looks like a lot of fun. Silver Dollar City is open and is decorated and has many rides and attractions.

I agree. We thought the same thing, KI opens right around the same time. I always thought this would be a good thing during winter break then add in holiday theming, lights, etc. Actually, I'd love to see an indoor amusement park in Ohio open year round with a decent coaster. Kalahari is so big now, you could easily fit a bunch of rides in a similar structure. :)

I don't do anything for amusement park-like thrills during the offseason.

I guess that's all I have to say about that. :)

Promoter of fog.

Hersheypark and Dutchwonderland are still open through Christmas and I'm close to both....no coasters, but it's still nice to be inside an amusement park...ride the flats, train, monorail and look at the lights.

I'll also probably try to get out to Hershey for Chocolate World, ZooAmerica and the Museum sometime between January-March.

Were also going to the Great Wolf Lodge this week too :)

I also spend alot of time in the off-season working on coaster/ride models. I've also got some big plans for my first coasterdynamix creation (other than the HO scale Comet) over the next few months.

It'll have to do until we can afford to get to Florida.

I admit it, I am dying and can't take it anymore. School sucks, work sucks, my whole life in general sucks really, and there is no Cedar Point. At least from May till October if crap like this is happening I can go get away and ride TTD or Maverick and everything is better. But right about now I am really suffering. Opening day can't come soon enough.

Goodbye MrScott

Yeah, we don't want another VT...

Wait in the longest line at the grocery store and then ride the belt all the way to the scanner :>)

Now that is hilarious! I'll have to try that. Maybe in a straight jacket at Walmart as Chris Lynn suggested in his Magicomedy show this past Halloweekends. :)

I've always found that sneezing and falling backwards in a chair at the same time creates some nice g's... ;)

Aww, sorry to hear you feeling so down ejh. If I can play Lucy for a minute..."what you need is involvement". Find a winter sport to get some stress relief. Others have given good ideas or even just join a health club. Doing laps in an indoor pool feels great. I'm having trouble running in this cold, so I'm about to hit the treadmill. Boring, yes, but I crank the IPod & the endorphins get flowing. And if you have a faith, rely on that. Hope things get better for ya. :)

(Keep the nickel. ;))
