What do you do for amusement park-like thrills during the off season?

Watch football and other sports on TV. I should travel to other amusement parks one of these days. I've been to Disney in FLA twice but not much else in recent memory. KI, Hershey, Cypress Gardens, Sea World & Opryland in the distant past. Some are warm weather, are defunct or have changed.

^Try Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens. Those are both pretty good parks.

Paintball is also another fun thing to do during the off-season.

I'll check up my Journal of CP to see how many times I was there the past year. I also will look on www.cedarpoint.com and see what they are doing.

I'll go to the High School Football Play-Off Games, and other High School Sport Games, and a few of the Cavs's Games. I will be going to Las Vegas for a Vacation in January with my family and friends.

^^ That's right I forgot about Busch Gardens Europe Williamsburg, VA. Kings Dominion is another good suggestion. Dominator is new next year. I hear good things about Dollywood. A lot of old folks invade the park for her Christmas events.

In the past Winters I've played indoor Roller Hockey (they closed the rinks and turned one into a sand volleyball court), Bowling (can't stand the smoke) and eBay (sniping is a sport).

^ There's also Columbus Bluejackets games come to think of it. I guess there is life outside of the CP operating season :)

If you can't stand the smoke when bowling come to Louisville the bowling alleys, and everything else is smoke free!

Another CP off season destination to get some amusement park thrills, Holiday Lights Spectacular at Beech Bend Park, Bowling Green, KY. Open Nov. 22 (yes Thanksgiving Day) to Jan. 5. Kentucky Rumbler will be open in addition to other rides and attractions.

Weather is a bit milder than CP's but not by much. :)

Halloweekends! be sure to check out BGE, its really a fantastic park. You can easily turn Williamsburg into an extended vacation too, you also have Water Country USA (great waterpark,) Colonial Williamsburg a historical reenactment park that recreates the Revolutionary War Capitol of Virginia, and Yorktown and Jamestown near by. Williamsburg is defiantly my second favorite vacation destination behind Orlando.

^I second that. Except for the historical park... its a little bit boring.

This is another thing that I like to do for off season thrills, good music too in this video. Check it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR2ygFn-yR8

I personally like to sit in front of my computer, watch POV's, and put my hands up like a mad man pretending to ride lol. On a real note, I usually take trips down to Florida and ride coasters down there.

I mentioned COSI Toledo (Ohio) as a great off seaon place to visit. Well the levy failed and she will close as of December 31, 2007. How sad for NW Ohio and many in SE Michigan. :(

I live near cleveland, ohio and in april I go to the IX center indoor amusement park. Word of advice: ride the zipper ride, and the freak-out ride. (If you have a strong stomach you will like these rides in my opinion.) The place is like a carnival that's indoors. It has food stands, games, and a ferris wheel that remains in the building because it's part of the center. The building is next to the airport. It can be cold and snowy out and still you can have fun riding rides.

That sounds like it would be a lot of fun, isn't it open year round?

No, it's not open year round, just in the end of march and first half of april. It's the cure for the wintertime blues.

It's set up mainly to be a spring break event, and it has rides for kids and adults. This place also hosts other events like boat shows, auto shows, bike shows, and have different schedules throughout the year. If you go to ixindooramusementpark.com it should give you some info on it.

I always like to watch the rollercoaster of cedar point dvd around christmas time. As kind of a half way off season type thing. You could also find a road with a lot of hills on it and drive fast as hell and drive down it like a mad man but that would be pretty dumb LOL.

Dumb fun, yeah!

Not that I'm endorsing that sort of action. Or admitting to anything.

I regret nothing!
