"And now for something completely different" MPFC
I think a good number of us are still anxiously awaiting a world-class woodie. I envision an L-shaped out and back with a good combination of floater hills a la Shivering Timbers, as well as some awesome cross-overs, laterals, and helices. Ideally, CP would be the lucky recipient of one of the Gravity Group's first major installations...:) Unfortunately, I'm not so sure CP can look past the fact that it'd be a lot harder to market a ~125ft wooden coaster to the average joe.
I have a somewhat strong feeling that we'll be seeing an attempt at the inversion record next. They'll probably again turn to Intamin because they build large, SMOOTH rides for good prices. My personal dream come true would be something with an Expedition GeForce first hill and drop (twisting 90 degrees) followed by a nice mix of inversions, say 12 or so. Lap bars only, with the patented open-sided trains. I could really see the park doing something like this.

I've always wondered why CP doesn't utilize their shoreline more for their coasters. I highly agree that a flying or "X"-style coaster would rule if it skimmed over the lake, beach or rocky shoreline (not too close, it gets wavy on the lake). But construction costs would be ridiculously high to sink footers for a coaster underwater that would also have to endue freezing, thawing and rough waves.
And please, no water coaster. The Roller Soaker at Hersheypark (www.hersheypark.com) is nice for about an hour, but loses its charm. But, if they did want to go that route, the Frontiertown area near Snake River Falls would be a good place....you could water bomb boats coming off Snake River Falls, people on the swan boats and spectators (of course, include a "safe" path for those wishing to be dry)
And yes, gimme a great dark ride CP!!!! A haunted house (ala Knoebels Grove) would be SWEET and would be a great addition to the Frontiertown area (for those not wanting to get soaked, it would give us a reason to go back there).
1) I'm guessing the ohio environmental folks or the EPA would find some way to make it not possible to do so.
2) Would they just fence in the area around the ride in the water? what keeps joe fisherman from going and playing on the ride?
3) Winter.
I'm sure theres other reasons why it would probably never happen
My choices for next big additions (in no particular order):
1. Sitdown Multi Looper - It doesn't need to be a record breaker. Just a good solid ride. I'm not even a huge fan of B&M multi-loopers, but this seems like such a glaring omission from the line-up. No tricks, no gimmicks - just a great ride. (it could be made floorless as a "selling point", I suppose)
2. Wood. Just a small/medium sized woodie that delivers in the vein of the newer woodies we've seen come out in the past few years. They have classic wood, they have big wood (hehe), now it's time for new wood.
3. Flats. New, cutting edge flats. Maybe even a "Land Of Giants".
I definitely don't want to see a flyer - they're going the way of the stand-up. The 4D is cool and all, but still not the life changing experience for me that so many describe it to be and it just doesn't seem like something that would fit well at CP.
Ideally, you'd see a mid-sized multi-looper (5 or 6 inversion) and a small/mid sized woodie go in either the same year or back to back. Get that record back with two solid coasters that are really missing from the line-up at roughly the cost or a MF or TTD.

Or, maybe even combine some of these and come up with a completely new one like a 10-inversion, floorless coaster or a launched flyer coaster, or something like that...

HUSS GIANT's. Notice the plural. For the price that CP pays for 1 record breaking ride they could invest in a few Huss rides. Small footprint, big payoff in ridership.

I just went on that HUSS site and I have to say all those look great. I would love for CP to put in some of those.

it seems to me that the Blue Streak midway is kinda lacking. throw in a flat ride there, and you've got some more people in line for Blue Streak!
