The best thing about Six Flags "Worlds of Adventure" is that Cedar Point is nearby!
Yes this concept has come up before, but people dismiss it and say that it would inflict too many G's on the riders and it would be uncomfortable. I think that an inverted-standup would be cool, but they would seemingly have to be rather bulky with all the restraints needed. If some kind of innovation like this doesn't come along, I think it's safe to say that the era of the standups has run its course.

How about you lean forward on Mean Streak the next time you ride. If you don't let your back touch the hard seat backing you will have a great time. And it you still claims that it hurts you, then you need to request to board any school bus that has a route through some country roads and see how much you like that.------------------

I live on a dirt road and ride the bus home. My road is incredibly bumpy. I rode Mean Streak once last year, and will never ever ride it again. I'm 15 years old and had to sit down on a bench for 5 minutes because it was too painful to walk. No matter what I tried, taking my butt off, my back off, trying both at the same time....it didn't work. While I'm a male gymnast (semi explaining the pain) a dirt road dosn't even COMPARE to how painful MS is.
Edit-About the future...I would either like to see one of the past 90* drops...maybe a 100* drop, snagging the steepest...or I would just like to see a wild mouse coaster. They've been throwing the thrills at us for quite a bit now, I think it's time to get a nice family coaster...but not a kiddie.

If you had a chance to ride the Screamin' Delta Demon (I think that was the name) at Opryland you would have had the chance to ride a terrific 'Bobs type of coaster. The difference? The train/car was considerably shorter.
Intamin was not involved, to my knowledge in the retrofit that is now Disaster Transport.

How many standup coasters have we seen since Chang or Riddlers revenge??
The last standup ever made was Georgia Scorcher at Six Flags Over Georgia. It was made in 1999. Definitely one of the better standups, since it focuses more on sharp curves than inversions (it only has two inversions, loop and corkscrew). Rode it twice. And Raptor1117, RCT Station is/was one of the best Roller Coaster Tycoon fan sites out there. The owner, Red Phoenix, has closed it due to financial reasons. That site used to be one of my daily stops. I would love to see a new standup made somewhere in the world. Duh, CP already has one (Mantis).

Erie: The only great lake you can walk from end to end and only get oil on your shoes!
you laugh because i'm difrent and i laugh at you because you are all the same.
The manufacturer should be Intamin. That will allow them to have a larger wooden coaster with tons of airtime that does not cost 250,000 per year to maintain. I know Intamins are more expensive, but it will work out in the long run. And this time they need to build it backwards. Start with the bunny hills. Design them the way a perfect bunny hill should be, decide what speed you need for it, and then when you design the next to last element, make it end with the speed you need. Work backwards to the lift hill and then you will have a perfect ride throughout, especially when you have Intamin quality track. They need to have a ST-like run of hills and some pause and drops like the great CCI's do (Raven and Cyclops). A few killer turns like Raven and Zeus have should not be forgotten.
With all the money they will save on maintenance from using Intamin, hopefully they can pay the needed insurance premiums to have buzzbars and no headrests. It would be nice to have no seat dividers, but that is not needed.
While a ride like this would probably not give the attendance spike a record flyer would, it would give CP a lot more support from the enthusiast community that would benefit CP in many ways for several years. Also, it would probably cost a bit less than another record breaking steel coaster, especially if they go to B&M for it. Once the coaster hits the top of the polls, they can advertise it just like a record breaker.
If they do it right, I think they could top the AT poll for years. Not many new woodies are being made and of those so few spend the money needed to buy Intamin's quality. But they can't cut corners with ratchets and midcourse breaks for capacity. If they do, they probably won't land the top spot. Those who vote on the polls will just love the buzzbars and even if a midcourse breakrun would allow higher capacity, it will just kill the pacing that is so important for a top ranked woodie.
I have been on the new flyer at SF:GAm and I was not that impressed.

I know you guys are going to laugh at the concept of this, but i have never heard of it before and have no idea if it could be done. What about a stand up, suspended coaster? Just think of it standing up under the track with the cars swinging freely and going through some cool inversions. They could even utilize the same track type of X where two of the rails control the rotation of the trains.------------------
