Web Cam Activity and Testing..Oh My!

My bad, appears the odd piece is in the center of the top of the 7th level and they're extending a single support to it. It appears that the 8th level will come together at this center support. Will there still be another support extending from that? I think that's what I've heard goin around.

Peace I'm Out

I noticed right now they have a stubby-looking piece over the tower...could this be the weird piece where the three main supports will join together? It looks like there's a vertical support extending straight down from it.

From what it looks like, the stubby odd piece w/ multiple support connectors is in the center of the top of the 7th level. I was under the impression that that piece would top off the tower. But if you look at it I'm pretty sure it's in the middle there of the 7th level. So I'm not real sure what that stubby piece danglin right now is but it appears to have a support on the bottom of it that will connect to the 'odd' piece. The three tower supports appear that they will connect to the current dangling stubby piece.

Looking at the picture of the odd piece I realized that once again I am wrong. The odd piece has 7 connection points and the one I was referring to only has 6 connection points. So the odd piece going up is the odd piece. I'm so confused. I'm gonna stop pretending I know what's goin on.

Yeah, now that I look at it, the 7th level is not an open triangle like the 6 beneath it - that explains why the connectors in the odd piece were asymetrical and different sizes - I can make out 6 supports coming together at it. As for the dangling piece, this does look like it will be the apex of the tower. I'm also guessing that this piece will join with the tophat at the top, which - assuming distance between each level is 50 ft - is at the 400 ft mark.

Edit: you made that last post while I was writing this. I did remember the odd piece having more than 6 connectors, so that must be what is going up now.

I had hoped that the tabletop piece would be mounted on a post at least 30'-40' above the odd piece to get some additional height to complete the twisting on the descent. It really seems like they need more room to fit it all in. Alas, it appears that there may not be enough lift left in the cranes to mount in anywhere other than directly atop the odd piece. I think, in that case, the spiral after the tophat will be pretty tight unless the tophat is higher up than the odd piece. I guess I could live with a real tight spin coming off the top.
BTW - the odd piece has 7 connections. Four down, one up, one to the front and one toward the left side of the tower.
Well, I can definitely see this IS the apex - they already got the next support up and are connecting it to the rear main support. I'm guessing the tophat will either connect to one more support extending up from this apex, or will connect to the apex itself.
Yup, the tower is coming to a point. They will more than likely finish this "section" of the tower this week. Im looking forward to seeing what happens to this thing once they bring all the supports together. There looks to be one last track support on the right side of the tower, so we should see the tophat take shape pretty soon. *wipes tear from his eye* remember when it was less than one full level tall?!?!
Could the support coming off the "weird piece" in the down direction be more elevator shaft? The vertical support at the top looks similar to the supports rising at the bottom, in the middle.

does anybody know which topic the alternate webcams were posted in?

The vertical strut below the odd piece probably is not really required structurally. It is most likely there to support the odd piece temporarily to facilitate the sequence of assembly of all the support columns. Even though it is required only temporarily, I doubt they will remove it. With the diagonal braces below, it kinda helps to bring your focus up to the peak.

The elevator will be to the left of the center of the tower, not on the center.

Does any one think they will get that last side to the point yet today

They still have to connect both of the side towers to the apex. On the Breakers Cam, it looks like it is connected with two, but the back one is really the only one connected.

I got a useless question, just out of curiousity more or less. Have the webcams always been in military time? I saw it and it didn't seem right.

Yes, as far as i remember they have been.
Why are they taking the support down they had it up all day?
