One of my favorite scenes from Airplane was when the little guy pulls the plug that turns out all the runway lights, only to plug it back in and say, "just kidding."That was the first thing I thought of.
Don't forget about the self-destruct countdown in "Spaceballs"! "10, 9, 8, 6,..." "what happened to 7??" "just kidding... 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Have a nice day." "Thank you!"

And the useless posts keep on coming, there are times Jeff, when I feel very sorry for you, you do a great job, but I know I wouldn't have the patience for these posts...at any rate, the tower is above 400, believe it or not. Why people continue to use the webcams as their argument is beyond me. Go and read about distances and lenses and then come back and post.

Well, because of our perception, the further the object, the smaller the object appears, in this case, a roller coaster. Oppositily, the closer an object is to your perception point, the larger it may seem. Because of the convexity/concavity of the lenses being used for said object, also including the friction loss per foot per pound per mile per hour, we can come to the conclusion that this ride will be in the vicinity of 400 feet. Factor in the law of acceleration/deceleration of freefall and friction loss, (and take the inverse square root of said number), multiply it by 1.2, (1.4 if it's an FM job), it's safe to say that the speed of such a train may actually be faster going up the tower than at that same point going down the tower. Should you choose to debate this and come to a different conclusion, take a look at the webcams and figure this stuff out on your own.

"Twisted Sister" is the name of the new rollercoaster at Cedar Point for 2003. Just watch!
Thanks for posting the pics, Termite! It's dark for another couple of hours and I'm glad that I don't have to wait until the sun comes up to have seen this thing.

Who was the first person to look at a cow and think, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes out?"
The new pictures on virtual midway show it close to 70 feet taller that the Power Tower which is 330 feet tall, if I remember correctly.
I wonder what all the stuff on top of the top hat is though.

On a related note, it appears that many, if not all, of the kicker wheels are in place.

This is what I want to do to someone here http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail20.html.
Tallest Out-And-Back Roller Coaster
The Steel Dragon which opened on August 1, 2000, at Nagashima Spaland, Mie, Japan, is an out-and-back roller coaster which rises to a height of 95 m (311 ft 8 in) above the ground.
Steel Dragon isn't the tallest coaster if you count in Superman. But it is the tallest and fastest out and back. So if #16 wasn't 400ft (again, I am not disputing anything, I hope it is) could it still break the record for the tallest out and back coaster and the fastest? Just curious.
I don't understand why CP wouldn't anounce this ride like they did Millie?
