I'm an engineer and I've worked on several water tank projects.
The existing tank is well past what I would consider, under the best of circumstances, its useful life.
Even if you keep painting them, water towers still rust from the inside out.
We normally have tanks inspected by divers and check the tank's thickness.
If the metal is too thin,we replace it.
I've actually had one instance where the metal got so thin it developed "pin hole" leaks.
As far as the new tank, normally,if a site like Cedar Point is served by "city water", we use the tanks to improve pressure in the system as well as provide "stand-by" capacity for emergencies, like a water main break or fire.

Looks even worse now that the tank has been added. *Shivers*
You realize the P&D didn't have a meeting and say "hey, I know, what project can we come up with that is very aesthetically unappealing?" The park needs the water tower, period. And the water tower CP is installing looks infinitely better than that ridiculously ugly golf ball thing in Gonzales. Now that's an eyesore.

I didn't know aside from amusement park and roller coaster enthusiasts we're also Water Tower enthusiasts.
Like, I feel like some people now are going to go into the park and just admire a water tower, not the world class park they're currently in. Like seriously do you think given the parks current management they're not going to do something with the Water tower, which is an object on the skyline and right next to Breakers?
I can't wait, some water tower enthusiasts are ganna be like this in a few months I think.
