Wow, much respect to those workers up there, the one is climbing down the ladder. Don't think I could do that work.
Also, it really amazes me how much work gets done at CP in off seasons.
I've had to inspect failed bolts on sports lighting installations.
The poles tend to be about 100' feet high.
Most of the time we use an aerial ladder.
As long as you have, properly use, and trust your safety equipment, its not bad.
The thing I had to get used to was that , when you get to the top of the aerial ladders on some older fire engines , they can "bounce" a couple of feet.

But the water tower was the last family attraction that the whole family could enjoy together...
My grandpas used to tell me about their grandpas building the water tower back in CP's Heyday, we would ride Thread The Needle for hours and gaze lovingly at that historic water monument made of iron, wood and lead paint.
You know what? You're right. I am now outraged. They are tearing the whole place down, greedy corrupt company that killed Geauga Lake for no good reason. Let's start a petition!

I'm a bit sad to see it come down too, but it's not like it's a ride or anything.
I'd like to see a piece of it in Town Hall though, just a few feet by a few feet with as much of the CP logo as they could fit into that place.
How about in the museum they put a postcard of the water tower... with the water tower in the far distant background... behind some trees (wait, CP doesn't have ANY trees anymore), hidden by something slightly more relevant like the Kite Eating Tree.

Don't y'all know, they left the supports of the old water tower up to be utilized next winter for the winterfest. They will string a bunch of Christmas lights from it and call it a Christmas tree. After all, if you string a bunch of lights in a triangle shape you can call it a Christmas tree, excuse me, holiday tree. Why use Power Tower or Windseeker if you can use the water tower.
Do you think they will have a grave marker for it in the grave yard?
