Really weird - the script is almost exactly the same as this one:

The one you posted was a parody of the first one.

Looking at those two water towers side by side, all I can think is Tanks. Tanks a lot.

What's the status on the new tower? Done yet?

They are painting it but progress on the painting is moving along slowly.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I assume they have filled, or at least, will start filling it before they finish painting it.

Looks nice, thanks for the photo.

For water tower enthusiasts, I noticed a new one went up near the Rye Beach Rt. 2 eastbound entrance ramp. It is one with a narrow stem, looks like a golf tee with a ball on it. I don' remember it there, seems to have been erected pretty quickly.

It was just repainted. It was a plain white tower before.

^ Oh, okay, I never noticed it before. It really stands out now. Both times we drove past it this week there were workers on top of it.

Folks over at watertowerbuzz.com are probably hyperventilating with excitement.

Here is a quick blurb from the Sandusky Register showing the completed repaint of the water tower on Rt. 2 near Rye Beach Rd. It references another article from a few weeks ago which gives more detail/timeline of the project They've been working on it for a few weeks now. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same crew painting both the Rt. 2 tower and Cedar Point's. It would explain why there hasn't been much progress at CP's lately. They were busy working on the other tower.

I was last there when it just had the line blue bottom about a month ago. It is really looking great and might not be an eye sore after all.
The newly painted Huron water tower also looks great!

Almost looks like a parachute ride.

I've got a feeling the bottom portion will stay unpainted. Do most water towers built like this stay unpainted?

The concrete will not be painted, it has a texture to dress it up a little. I think the new tower looks much better than the old, it looks contemporary and not old and clunky.

It won't be filled until painting is complete. They not only paint the outside but the inside to prevent against rust on the inside of the tank. Once painting is complete they have to "bleach" the inside of the tank to kill off any bacteria and also excess residue that formed during construction/painting and then they will fill the tower. That process takes about a month so figure mid October before it is operational.

Dunno why but I'd love to see the inside of those tanks, just go give a personal reference & scale as to what it looks like/it's size. I mean just to fill that thing just seems impressive. Not only the volume but the pressure to move a column of water that high and keep it there.
