They are probably doing that so them can get the other trades in there working on it. Smart to plan it so multiple groups can be working on the same project at the same time
Indeed. The station, transfer and lift are the most complex, so it makes sense to start there.

Interesting note: the same "vertical construction" pic that CP posted has since also appeared on the FB "Ok,..." page.Maybe they saw it on the CP page, saved it and posted it as if it's their own?
I bet if Pyro were still here, he'd be going NUTS! :)
Awww Pyro was booted! Almost miss him but that will teach him to mess with Walt and Jeff. As a side note it is amazing how things have changed since I was a "younger"person with regards to new rides. The ride was announced with few details at first..no cams ,no internet nuffin. The way you first saw the ride was opening day (or whatever day you went) and saw it in person.
However you now get to view people taking bathroom breaks!! I think things were better when I was young,
Why doesn't cedar point build a maintenence shed to ever cover their trains when they don't have them on the track? With seeing this new addition on the construction, it would seem that they would want to at least keep the trains out of the elements.
I understand most intamin coasters don't use them, but even on the two b&m coasters they have they really don't although raptor is semi-covered. I mean you already spent a ton of money why not just add the structure to work on them as well?
I Miss the Pirate ride.
B&M requires all storage bays to be covered and if you look at any B&M ride at any park, the storage bay is covered.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

The trains are not built out of cardboard and balsa wood, they are made to be out in the elements. Coaster trains are built out of steel just like the track they ride on. You don't see a need to cover the track up in the winter do you?

Ah, the days of brochures in the late winter/early spring where all you saw was a cartoon rendering of a part of the ride.

Eat 'em up, Tigers, eat 'em up!
I'm really excited for this ride. The wait will be worth it when this beautiful structure will be finished!

Shows construction has kind of focused on the station platform/framing before moving on. Is this normal?
Given that, as of closing day, no concrete had been poured beyond that area and the former employee parking lot, it makes sense. I'm willing to bet that while action is happening at the station site, plenty of prep work and concrete pouring is going on in the other areas this ride will pass through.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I hope they plan on taking down that white tent, and not keeping it there for the parade, because that will make the area look so junky when we are waiting in line for gatekeeper. Especially when halloweekends is going on. Can they build gatekeeper around it if they wanted?
What are the plans for the current maintenance shop in the park? Are they keeping the building or tearing it down as well? If they plan on keeping it, they could probably store Halloweekends props over there if possible. One of the ideas I think about GateKeeper, is opening up that area so it can look "fresh" and not tacky.
Does anybody know what happened to the camera that used to be placed by Maverick? I'm thinking it might get put somewhere where we can see construction and not an empty pathway.
^For me, the link to the live webcam isn't even shown on CP's site. I hover my clicker over "Online Fun" to get the option box, and the live cam isn't listed anymore.
