Valravn Goes Vertical--Construction Starts

It is amazing, I was floored when I saw it Sunday. Just a beautiful way to enter the park from the Marina.

I haven't seen any signs of a ride sign being made. And I would think they would have installed it by now.

They can be found at the top of the article here. Note that the controls for scrolling the pictures seem to be a little messed up (in Chrome at least). I had to refresh the page a couple times to get to see them all.

Thanks! Yeah it really looks great. It will be cool to walk around the midway because Valravn interacts with it so much.

The ride sign has been installed. It is the throne in the picture a few post back. Confirmed by Kristy Bacni.

Ok. That's what we were discussing a few posts back. I thought that might be the case but I don't like that there is no big open ride sign plaza. The throne is tucked away.

The lights on the lift hill look real cool

What color are they exactly? They look yellow to me but its is somewhat fuzzy.

Nevermind. As I type this a picture has been posted to twitter. Its is like a multicolor light.

It sort of looks like that. Look at the Cedar Point Twitter account. They just posted a closer up picture of the lights.

Has the main midway been lit up very colorful like it is now?

I was just going to comment on that. The view from the Valravn cam presents a pretty spectacular view of what has been done with the midway there in terms of lighting.

Are we talking about the main midway having new lights/looking like a Christmas tree? Are those rainbow lights on right now new this year? And has those trees by the dive loop and wall always had 'Christmas' lights on them?

the official POV has been posted!

EDIT: I'm assuming a new one will be posted later on when the landscaping is 100% finished (aka there's grass and not just the seed) and without any guests making noise on it. I recall CP posting an initial POV of GK and then replacing it half way through the season

Has there been a good off ride footage video posted anywhere? I have not been able to find one. Most have bits of it but then go back and forth to facing the riders.

Also watching the POV, we can see that the new water tower is not replacing the original (as of now) and is closer to breakers/behind the maintenance buildings near Corkscrew.

I'm sure there will be in the coming days! Heck, maybe Coaster Studios will do a review without riding it!

You make the leap that because they still have the old water tower up before the new one is finished that they're not going to retire it?
