Valravn Goes Vertical--Construction Starts

I am surprised that no one has mentioned about The Today Show being at the park this morning.

Probably because it's not that big a deal? ;)

It's just one of many more to come on Wednesday. So it's not really surprising that a news network (or whatever) wants to do some early shooting for a piece that will, probably, be aired later in the week.

I forget who mentioned this before, but I think that circle in the ''infield'' of Valravn is a pond. It looks too reflective to be dirt.

I don't think it looks reflective at all. Looks like wood chips. Maybe for a rain garden?

Actually, after looking back at the time lapse, it does look like it could very well be wood chips. And there was no hole dug out. It still looks reflective to me though.

Do you mean where they just planted trees today, or the nice kidney shaped area of mulch?

Looks great! Random: I hope the chain motor isn't as loud as Fury's.

Honestly, Fury 325's lift motor never struck me as being loud. But Valravn's lift will probably be slightly quieter, as it can get away with a smaller motor since it has a shorter and slower (but still quite swift) lift.

Is it too late to wish for station music?

Looking further into it, this is GREAT indirect marketing for CP and Valravn. Think about how many more guests will take a picture sitting in that throne with "Valravn, Cedar Point" in the background and post it on social media? Very well done CP!

So has it been confirmed that the throne is taking the place of the ride sign. If so I don't really know if I like that. Cedar Fair has been creating some absolutely awesome ride signs that light up at night. This just doesn't seem as cool to me. But it is a great way to market the coaster since people will constantly be posting pictures of themselves siting in it.

I wouldn't think so, because the throne is kinda tucked away in a section on the midway. It's not all up in your face like Gatekeeper.

Sorry to double post but, the Sandusky Register just posted a lot of pictures of the new marina gate, and it looks AMAZING!
