Update: July 23 and July 22

Well, I would have no problem agreeing with more track yet to be delivered. But, at this point I would say they are not trying to hide anything. The announcement is suposed to be made in the next few weeks. A month at most. My guess is that the announcement date will be based on the construction / delivery schedule. I would assume that they will announce it just before we would be able to figure it out ourselves.

I wouldn't expect it before Labor Day.

^ I would.

Ya, they've got plenty of time to bring more track in.

I was thinking they were shipped in at least 40' containers, so I was estimating the track to be 40' long. Someone should take out a tape measure, then we'll know. :) There are some right up against the fence. Shouldn't be too hard. he he he! *** Edited 7/25/2006 4:48:30 PM UTC by halltd***

Remember in the case of Dragster, they said they were going to announce it in November and it didn't happen until January.

Here's what you do: Find out how many pieces of track are used on MF. Take the total ride length (in feet) and divide it by the number of pieces, so as to get an average length.

Now, multiply that length by the estimated number of pieces currently on site.

Brandon

And by the time your done doing that....it will have already been announced. ;)

I thought it was in the MF construction diary, but those don't seem to be available anymore. Which is a shame.

I'm sure someone around here will be able to help.

Isn't there somewhere on the internet that lets you look at old websites? I can't remember the link to the site now, but it was discussed on here. I searched for it, but no luck. *** Edited 7/25/2006 5:13:21 PM UTC by Jeff Young***

Thanks, DJ

Hmm, well I guess that must not be working now or something, because I have no luck with that when I type in any site, not just www.cedarpoint.com. *** Edited 7/25/2006 5:20:47 PM UTC by Jeff Young***

There is 229 pieces of track on Millennium Force.

6595/229= 28.799 feet

I am 100% sure that we do not have all the track yet because there is no track yet to indicate how the train will be moving, as far as track for a chain lift, lim launch, hydraulic launch, cable lift. I almost wonder if these pieces wont show up After the announcement is made in order to keep it a secret.
