Update: July 23 and July 22

I'm beginning to wonder if what we think will be a brake run will really be a launch... The descending/ascending supports heading towards Thunder Canyon could really be either.

That and I'm now convinced that the supports herehttp://pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4405 go with the bike rack looking pieces http://pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4404 , and potentially at high elevation or with track running underneath... *** Edited 7/24/2006 10:45:05 PM UTC by aighead***

Love it or Lump it.

Snazzy thinkin!! I kinda like that idea. But I'm still TOTALLY confused on those "bike rack" loking pieces.

I love watching complex projects come together.

:)

Those supports remind of my old "erector" sets. I agree that they are most likely (the three sides supports) for attaching other supports to them...perhaps a place where the track comes close to another part of the track.

Promoter of fog.

damn seagul already starting to discolor the ride....btw *chants* repaint, repaint, repaint, "omg it's such an eyesore"

"were going in a whole new direction"....backwords

I imagine they were going for a support color that would blend in well with the ground or tree trunks...something that wouldn't stand out a whole lot...and by god, they have a winner there I'd say.

Hmmmm..... I honestly don't knwo what to say at this point. This ride can go anywhere as far as i am concernerd. The thing that we need to remember is that we are still Very early in the construction phase, we need to giveit about a month to truly grasp what this machine will be. But for now, anything can go.... I though that those supports all ina line, in three colomns of rows were where ethe lift would be, and right now it looks like it could be a launch track or a brake run.... HMMMMMMM We'lll have to wait and see

Based on how many grond hugging turns there are, how twisted the track seems, the weird three-sided supports, and the obscene ammount of footers around (plus if you look on coaster-net they have pics of more flags in other areas) I have come to the conclusion this this will end up looking like a giant twisted ball of red steel.

And I'm excited.

Isn't that called a spaghetti bowl or something?
(seriously)

I think the footers are a bit too spread out to look like a giant ball (I'm thinking like Mantis-like look), but then again I don't know what the footers for Mantis looked like.

I definitely think this will look unique, even if the ride isn't.

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

i still believe even though i am not familiar with construction of these rides that there would be a crane already on site if this ride was going to be very tall. I think i am going to have to agree with some other opinions on this site and say that this ride will be low to the ground.

*edit*

large crane on site

It's not going to be very tall. My money's on a height similar to Raptor.

i think we have MANY more months of track and support arrivals. i'm not saying its going to be HUGE, but i think it won't be all 10' from the ground. LOL!!

then again, even if it is low"er", i LOVE raptor. maybe even more than MF. so, more power to them if they're building something of that caliber.

That series of supports that gradualy get taller interest me. Those look like supports that would connect to the two railed (no back bone) track pieces.

As seen on Millennium Force's brake run:
http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=1217

And I saw a picture of that type of track.

And this is a reminder: Any supports with a flat end is to be connected to other support peices. So, this piece:
http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4408

Will be connected to other supports, thus making a structure. I can see the tubes running paralel across the main tube to be vertical.

And I'm waiting to see pictures of straight track with a traugh in it. That would confirm one of the two: Cable lift, or Hydralic Launch. *** Edited 7/25/2006 3:05:27 AM UTC by Keith 2005***

That double verticle S curve thingy could be for a pre-rop out of the station like found on Morgan coasters. Well at least on Steel Eel.

Or Magnum, Batman Knife Fight and other coasters I can't think of?

I just hope this ride has lots of airtime.

The one formerly known as said:

Batman Knife Fight

Hahhahahahahah... what?!?

In case it hasnt been officially confirmed. The thing covered by the large blue tarp is crates, as proven by this picture.

Mechanical Engineer: Dont mess with us, we design your coasters.

Also, as of today there was still alot of rebar lying in piles around the site. This suggests to me that there is still much concrete to be poured.
