Update - More 5/23 and 5/24

I've just got a Canon S2-IS with a 12x optical zoom. It's a pretty cheap $350 camera, although I really like the functionality.

It's no $1000+ Digital SLR though.

I threw all my pictures from this week up on my web site if anyone is interested. I'll probably write some sort of a trip report to go along with it today after I get a shower and food and before I go to work.

I got a Canon SD450 for this year. It's no where close to being the best, but its picture quality is good and it fits securely in any pocket.

How did we get on this camera topic? :)

Well, if anyone cares, I'll break the Canon trend by saying I currently use a Nikon CoolPix 8700 and a Nikon D200.

Jeff Young asked me what kind of camera I had on the last page, and I just now woke up and got around to answering it. ;)

I want to get a secondary camera some day that will fit in my pocket or at least a small belt holder. Right now, however, it's out of my budget. :)

I'd too like to *someday* purchase a small camera that could fit in my pocket... but until I have the money sitting around, quality is more important to me.

Some of the pocket-sized cameras actually have some pretty good quality.

Oh believe me, I know... they just don't offer all of the manual features that I use so much.

Those pics I took were from a new Sony W-50 that retails for $249...I have big hands and the camera is sometimes a little too small for me but otherwise it's the best point and shoot i've used.

My PowerShot A60 still works just fine for me...

See my trip report from last weekend to see the affordable quality...

My Powershot A70 quit working reliably. I Just kept getting an error message related to the lens motor.

My Powershot S30 had the exact same error. Never did end up getting it fixed (I even tried disastrously to do it myself). Two years later, I've gotten a new camera. Yep... no Canon's for me from now on.

Does anybody else see the twisted track and the straight line of footers as possibly the string of barrel rolls/heartline twists like Colossus at Thorpe Park? There are like 4 in a row on the ride, aren't there? I was a little disappointed with Intamin when I saw just HOW they broke the inversion record, but fans of the ride say the multiple barrel rolls in succession is really fun. PLEASE nobody accuse me of wild speculation, I've been looking at the pictures very closely. I for one will not be disappointed with the new coaster, no matter what it is. Whether the new ride is aquatrax, multilooper(with 11 inversions to break the record), or sooperdooper500footmonster(highly unlikely), Cedar Point has my support and patronage. I think it would be cool if they had taken out White Water Landing to build this new coaster and add a new flume later when they could work around the course of the coaster. With the right use of space back there they could fit in several new rides in the next few years.

Hey Ben, what is the URL for your webpage. I would like to see those other pictures.

I could see this being a Intamin Mega Coaster. A couple of you guys said there wasn't enough room. There is plenty of room! So you may not be able to build a layout quite like Millennium Force or Magnum, but you can create something unique. You could be creating a really good compact layout for this coaster.

Yeah, one where water is involved.

G'day. This is my first post although have checked out PointBuzz for years.

I'm really rooting for a 200ft 12 inversion coaster! ;)

CP is seriously lacking a big megalooper. I love loopers & they don't have many.

As for the overbanked turns, why bother as MF has them. But yeah the ride might have some.

Also disappointed with Colossus. 4 barrell rolls in a row is a shortcut for the world record & it isn't even 100ft, but impressive anyways. Otherwise the 4 rolls would be fun I'm sure.

If it is a megalooper, it probably won't be similar to Colossus or the other 8 inverters. Would like a combination of all Intamin coasters out there. Stormrunner's snake dive comes to mind and Speedmonster's pretzel loop. A 200ft lift with a 170ft vertical loop would be awesome, biggest loop in the world.

Dunno if it'll be launched after the troubles with TTD. Just stick with a traditional lift hill or MF's cable hill.

What is it with you and water? ;)

Arguing with a coaster enthusiast is like wrestling with a pig in mud. After a while, you realize the pig enjoys it.

Just a strong feeling. :)
