TTD Status: Day to Day

Ahh... nevermind, Ralph's post was from late night on Saturday. It just looked like Sunday at first glance.

Yeah, I know it was running sunday.

And just so Im clear, my definition for marking it down for half open half closed is basically if it's down for half the hours of the day. So far saturday is the first all red square I have. *** Edited 6/19/2006 5:38:22 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

On Saturday, I walked by the Dragster station around three, and there were a handful of people in the station waiting, along with some on the ramp, not sure how long they had been standing there, but never saw the ride launch all day.

It was down all day Saturday. What you saw were only test runs; It never opened.

I was there ALL DAY saturday from open till close and it did run for about 1-2 hours in the evening. I took 2 of my friends with me and when it opened they were in front of it; however i was almost in a car for MF so i went ahead and rode and told them to get in line. They waited about an hour and a half and got within 3 launches of being able to ride and it broke down again for the remainder of the night.

I wonder what happened...

Brandon

It broke.

Didn't Ralph say "catch car problems"?

And obviously it wasnt anything serious seeing that it ran sunday.

I was as well, but the launches, I had heard, were only test runs. Either way, it definitely wasn't open for half of the day.

Sorry to leave you guys hanging. Yes, my post was from late Saturday night, and it was Saturday that I was referring to. My friend who works on the ride told me they ran for "a couple of hours" Saturday, but I don't know exactly how long or what time of day it was. He did indicate maintence was still working on the ride after the park closed, but clearly they had it up for Sunday.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Well, I must say that I'm impressed that its taken this long for TTD's first "down" day.

Brandon

on Sunday it was down mostly for weather conditions

On Tues. 6/20 it didnt open till about 2 45. It wasn't even testing and when it finally opened they had to gradually load the trains with more people because it rolled back. It ran ok but would have 15min periods with no launch, and i got on luckily. But later in the day you wouldnt see a train launch for an hour , hour and a half. At around 8pm it opened up again so i went back in line for one more ride. It was going fine so i didnt worry about anything, then they just announced it was broken on the speakers and said they didnt know when it would open. As soon as i saw maintenance people walking on the track, i left to get one last ride on millennium. Ive been lucky with dragster everytime ive gone it has worked all day with no problems, so i was pretty frusterated. But i did get one ride so i cant complain. (also maXair was down 3times, millennium was having some problems, but once it was working the ride ops were quick with thats a plus

I really hate this topic. It's running pretty well but it has its off days. Get over it.

And that sums it up, e x i t.

Its a nice thread to give the fanboys a hard time, though. ;)

Brandon

Well I really like the ride its great fun. But once i was in line and it kept breaking, the same 4 things come to mind

1) Twenty-five million dollars
2) Love it, but what a piece of crap
3) How have the mechanics who have to fix this ride not commited suicide yet
4) This is its 4th season it's getting rediculous

One word: overtime.

;)

Brandon

TTDCP, you read my mind. :)

First trip June 23rd

It was down until 3 yesterday. It ran until 8 - ish and was down for the rest of the night. We got a ride around 6. It was launching steady while were in line with 1-2 minute intervals.

Maintenance was at the launch position working on the catch car as we were leaving around 11:00.. As we got a little closer to Magnum's entrance they were bringing the famous little blue crane down the midway.

Looked like it was going to be a long night. *** Edited 6/21/2006 5:47:44 PM UTC by Coastern3rd***

Saturday: down, Sunday: weather, Monday: ????, Tuesday: down

I sure hope this trend doesn't continue.

You got that right!!! >_> One problem arises and it's the worst coaster at the park.

A minor hiccup, that's what I call this.

Though it appears that it's the catchcar that's causing these problems.
