Man, I cant wait to say to all the people who thought it was going to run badly this year "I told you so!":)

They were running half full trains until about 12pm when I was last there as well. At least 9 people were in the trains rather than NONE. *** Edited 5/23/2006 8:48:10 PM UTC by Gomez***

adam, top thrill dragster was open on the 12th, for some 70 people (including me!), from 4 until close, but, yes, it was closed for weather for part of the day.
I was riding at 3 and they were running some half trains for a while and then went back to full trains. And in my mind, it doesn't look very good for your company when on your main attraction, you can't even run full trains.
All you guys who are saying "I told you so" shouldn't count your chickens to early, it is afterall still May. I'm not saying I want it to go down, but come on, the parks only been open like 3 weeks.

Oh, thanks for the info.
And technically no one has said "I told you so" yet....if anything I will be the first one to say it. But I wont say it untill I have irrefutable proof (note how I said "I cant wait").
Though I'm confident that I will be saying those words. *** Edited 5/24/2006 2:39:40 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Well, when I was there (19th-20th), it certainly wasn't running well at all. So, your "I told you so!" opportunity has come and gone, only 3 weeks into the season.
But I wont say it untill I have irrefutable proof (note how I said "I cant wait").
Though I'm confident that I will be saying those words.
While TTD is running okay, there is no way you could have "irrefutable proof", because I have proof that it has not been running well - I was there and saw it going down quite regularly over the weekend.
So, I'm confident that you cannot say those words.

I hardly call a 30 minute wait serious.
TTD has not gone down yet for a serious issue (over 2 days downtime) this year. The weather didn't cooperate, but so far TTD has been reliable.
Reliability increases over time as vital parts are built better and the staff can make repairs faster.
No, a 30 minute period of downtime isn't serious. But several 30 minute periods of downtime in the span of a day and a half is serious.
So, let me get this straight... Now TTD must be down for 2 days before its considered "serious"?
The fanboyism 'round here is ridiculous.
Brandon
So is the hatred.
Oh and by the way (because you got it all wrong) , I will be saying "I told you so" regarding long term downtime not the stupid little 30 minute downtime that everyone seems to bitch about or blow out of proportion. If you dont like the ride then dont go on it and dont complain about a wait that you werent even apart of.
"So, I'm confident that you cannot say those words."
I TOLD YOU SOOOO.......see, I can say that.....whenever I want.

However if it is down for 30 of every 60 minutes, that's half the day that it isn't running. Thats some pretty serious down time.
I don't mind waiting (reasonably) when the ride is running, but waiting for a ride throughout a breakdown when the rest of the park is operating (no matter what ride it is) is just stupid.

Yesterday they were having a little problem, but it had nothing to do with the ride. They couldn't get the ride ops microphone to work or the microphone in controls. They were not allowed to run the ride when the mic didn't work so we had to wait until they fixed it. I thought it was ironic that the ride was not the problem this time.

How come because some people stay positive about the park they have to be ridiculed and then classified in some ridiculous "class" and call them a "fanboy". Isn't that kind of like, when you play a game, being called a "newbie"?
Is it just me or does anyone else find this stupid? We're all on this site because we are fans of CP. I wouldn't think there's anyone active on the site that wants the rides to breakdown. It's time to grow up.

If I remember right though, the TTD spiel is done on the hardwired mic inside the booth, not a wireless. So the mic is part of the ride that was designed and built by Intamin AG, and is therefore still a problem with the ride (although thankfully, not with the ride system).
Apparently some of you don't realize, we don't bash on it. I would love to see the ride run reliably. However, to call it a reliable ride when it has been anything but it just plain dumb. So far this season (12%) it has been reliable as far as I know. But that is way too early to tell what it will be for the remaining 88%.

I have yet to say the ride is reliable, but this is the first May to pass with ZERO downtime. (extended downtime to clarify) It is still early, but it has started this season very well. I bet Kinzel isn't so dissapointed now.

"we don't bash on it"
What!? You have got to be kidding me!
First off, I dont think myself (or Gomez) have said anything about it being reliable yet.
And where abouts did you get this 12%.....it just doesnt seem right.....even with the 4 days of weather (including the 2 half days that it was open/closed for rain) in which it was closed.
Oh and Carpy, well said. *** Edited 5/24/2006 8:00:01 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***
