It rained all weekend (or at least most of it) and Magnum and Millennium were up and running the whole time (while people waited in Dragsters station).

That's why Disaster Transport is so wonderful. Forty degrees out? It's nice inside. Hotter than Hades? The AC beckons. Raining cats, dogs, and livestock? It's dry inside the Psychedrome. Nuclear war? Ride on. :)

Except where there are holes in the roof that cause the ride to be closed due to weather. Yes, I have seen the sign.

I just wanted to let you all know that TTD went down at 7:30 tonight, and was down for the night. We were there when it all started, 2 mechanics came over to the launch area, dropped a few of the brakes, poked around. Then, one of them went to the control booth and came back. The catch car slowly moved up about 4 feet and the mechanic radioed to stop it where it was. They then announced that it would be closed for the remainder of the evening. We walked back by around 9:30, and they had the catch car removed from the track and hanging off of this sawhorse type thing, directly above the track. Also, the cable was hanging above the track. Just thought we'd give you all a heads up, in case it does not open tomorrow.
EDIT: I took a few pictures of the catchcar removed from the track. They had an employee standing next to the fence to prevent anyone from getting close, so they're not great pictures, but pictures nonetheless. *** Edited 7/21/2006 3:55:10 AM UTC by RyanNRobert***
This isn't the first time they've taken the catch car off this season. As long as nothing bad is going on in that hydraulic building the ride won't be down long.

^^Yeah, it was down the majority of the 17th of june for catchcar problems. And I believe the cc caused a few more problems on 19th and 20th of june. So it looks like this years main problem is the catchcar. I wonder how soon it's going to be when that has to be replaced?

The ride didn't open on time. It opened around 1:00 I believe, was open for a few hours, then WHAMO! The cable broke. They were working on it when I left, but it didn't look like they were going to be able to get it back up for tonight.

Wow, the cable actually broke?! When was the last time that happened??
Any idea what time it snapped?

Sometime in the afternoon. I think around 3:00 or so.
