You should get a job with the Bush administration.

I'd rather die. I'll stop there, because I could bring this far off topic with that one.

Cedar Point reports that all rides are operating now, and i see that it's running on FunCam, plus, it's starting to clear up from thunderstorms we were having earlier here (45 min. from the Point), so it should be pretty good out there except for some overcast. I can actually see some reflective shine from Dragster's top...so I guess it's back. Was that a fast recovery, or pretty slow?

I don't come to this thread to bash TTD. Never have, actually.

I come to this thread to bash the completely ridiculous things that fanboys say with regard to TTD. For example, TTD120's recent comments about it being down for only 1/2 of a day, for 2 consecutive days, when it was actually down for 1.5 days. I love the ride, but I hate the lack of objectivity around here.

Ok I dont remember saying that (I guess I did but I dont know) but I have the 26 all red and the 26th half red and half aqua blue. Are there days I'm missing here? Tell me and I'll correct it. I wont ignore you like you might think I will. If I'm wrong about a day, and you have more knowledge about that particular day, dont hold it in and bash me for it. Let me know and I'll correct any errors I made.

I may not talk much about the downtime, and I do rave about the uptime, but that doesnt mean that Im not taking notice of the downtimes. But no, go ahead and bash me dj for any uninformed information.

Update for you Adam. The ride was actually closed all day Wednesday due to the cable. It remained closed through this morning while they did some final cable adjustments, and opened around 1:00 or so.

They were having a hard time getting the old cable disconnected from the sled. They were working on that for atleast 2 hours, and were still doing so when I left. They kept talking about how everything was rusted on.... and the pieces that were coming off were definitely quite rusted.

I guess the water hose on the launch track would have something to do with that?

Timeline:

Tuesday, July 25th at approximately 4:00pm
Dragster's cable breaks

Wednesday, July 26th at approximately 7:00pm
Dragster sends two test trains, according to bpuch who was watching the webcam, although Top Thrill 182 left the park at 7:20 and NEVER saw it send a train.

Thursday, July 26th at approximately 2:00pm
Dragster appears to be running normally again, after being down for 46 straight hours.

But, because it rained late in the evening on the 26th, you are counting that day as half down and half down for weather, simply to "keep the streak alive":

This post is from Wednesday July 26th:

Craig, today counts as both down for mechanical and down for weather. Half red, half aqua blue.

[sarcasm]Wow thanks for the assumption dj, Im SOOOO sorry that I mistakenly took the 26th for having a longer period of weather. [/sarcasm]

Oh but I guess just saying, "Oh I think you made a mistake Adam/TTD 120, this is what I gathered about _______day." is a bit hard for you.

What did I assume? You stated that you were designating the 26th as half mechanical and half weather, when it didn't even open until the 27th. There were no assumptions on my part.

And it wasn't a mistake. It was more like a convenient assumption on your part that the ride would have reopened if not for the weather. When that was revealed the next day to obviously not be the case, you never made a correction. If it was a simple mistake, so be it - I apologize. But, it certainly appeared to be a convenient oversight rather than simple legitimate mistake.

Yes it was a mistake on my part, I didnt change it the next day, my fault. But it's all fixed and correted.
And let me just clearify that just because I had it as half weather doesnt mean that I knew it would open. What I thought is that you assumed I marked it down as half weather because I knew it was going to open. I was well aware it wasnt going to open. Weather on my log is just another way to say it's closed, another "red" if you will. Closed for mechanical reasons or not, if it rains for half of the day, I mark it as half aqua blue. Just think of it that way.

Right, but marking it as half aqua and half red seems like a sneaky way to make it appear that it ran better than it did. I can see it now: at the end of the season (assuming there are no more full days consumed by mechanical problems), you'll be talking about how it ran so well, without a full day of mechanical problems, using your calendar as proof.

The bottom line is, it was closed for mechanical - not weather, and should be marked as such.
