TTD Status: Day to Day

What a weekend! It ran great Fri and Sat. It rained today in the morning so I didnt bother going....plus the family wanted to leave Breakers Express and get home. All in all I managed to get 4 rides. I was hoping for 6 but saturday turned out to be more crowded than I thought.:(

I was really lucky sat too because I got in line at around 9 and got on around 10:15 (no downtime at all I might mention:)) and it's a good thing I was by myself and took the single seat that I did because after I got off, it started to rain and they closed it for a little bit. It did end up opening a few minutes later.......though it was still lightly raining......and that kind of confounded me. But oh well.

I was there Thursday 8/24 and it ran like a champ. I have been a huge critic of the ride and its down time but I couldn't find anything to complain about! Ok, well I only got 1 front seat ride, there I can complain a little. But the trains were launching on great intervals, the best I have ever seen them go, and it ran like that all day long!

Wow....TTD was wild today (8/27). It absolutly down-poured around 6:45pm and obviously closed Dragster for a while. Around 7:25 the line to get in line re-opened, and it was a straight shot into the station with only about 10 people in it + 2 already loaded trains. As we all know, usually the 1st train rolls back...and it did. The second one made it over.

Then it was our turn (3rd launch). Obviously we got in one of the trains that was left in the unload, which collected a TON of water. We launched and as we approached the crown, came to a dead stop and we would be on our way to roll back down, but not before everyone on the train got drenched by what had to have been buckets of water from the passenger leg compartments, which was pretty unexpected. Had we all not been soaked to begin with, it would have sucked. We returned to the station, were re-launched, and made it over.

From that point on, literally (with few exceptions) every other launch did NOT make it which meant a rollback for almost every train. As a very frequent visitor, I have never experienced this before, and have never seen this ride act up that badly after rain. We got off the ride at 8:02 after waiting to unload for about 10 mins (as the train after us didn't make it either). We left around 8:30 and the trains were still coming back down. Anyone else experience this??? Pretty cool if you ask me!! (The mechaincs pushing us up to the launch position probably didn't think it was cool, but they seemed to have a pretty good sense of humor about it :-p)

It's not uncommon for it to rollback after rain (we all know that), but it sure isnt common for every train to rollback. Perhaps the heavy rain did something, which it can.

I was only there until about 3pm on Sunday, but I noticed a unusually high number of rollbacks as well. I was on the first train of the day, and since it had been raining up until the park opened, I thought there might be a good chance of getting a rollback. Didn't happen. Got right back in line since the line hadn't gotten too long yet. While in line, it seemed like the green train was the "problem" child, as I saw it rollback a few times. When I got to board for the second ride, I was in the green train. Once we got to the launch position it was starting to rain, but we got launched. I was sure it would rollback because of the rain, but no luck. After I got off they shut it down for a while due to the rain, so I headed back to the back of the park, and the rain let up.

Later in the afternoon, around 1:45 or so I decided to get in line again since it was still fairly short. Right after I got in line, it went down again. There was a mass exodus, so I moved way up in the queue. It was down for about 20 minutes or so, then reopened. Two trains were launched, then it was down again. By this time I was on the ramp, and could see that there were mechanics working on something under the launch track just past the christmas tree lights, but not sure what they were doing. They left, and a couple more trains were launched, and it went down again. They came back to the same area, did whatever they did and it reopened. It was running pretty well after that. I left the park around 3pm, so don't know how it acted after that.

I was there yesterday, Sunday September 17th. Dragster was open the entire day and the wait was about 20 to 30 minutes. I think it had one or two 10 minute breakdowns but thats nothing big or unusual. I ended up riding it 5 times. Three times from 10:00-10:30.

She ran great Sunday 10/1. The only delays I saw were those trying to conceal loose articles and those that couldn't buckle. Wait time was 1/2 hour for us and I rode 3x that day. Having a vertically challenged little one along that is anxiously waiting to grow, I was tickled to get on more than once! ENJOY!

There was a period of downtime on Saturday afternoon that wasn't rain related. It was down for about 1 1/2 hours due to something in unload 1 area. I didn't mind the wait though, because I was in the first train after the downtime, and got rollback #5!

Friday night it was running great, and Sunday was great.

And arms_down, we'll miss you this weekend too. I'll be there on Sunday.

Yup I will try to have fun at Cork Screw :-( make sure you keep Dragster in check for me!!!!!!!

Sunday they went down for a few min's to take the green train off and put the black cherry train on the track, but that was the only down time I noticed. It ran fantastic all day.

I was their on Saturday and I would of loved to have been on the gold train after they fixed the problem, it had 2 rollbacks before it finally went over.

FYI, Dragster was down Sept 8,9,10. Mechanical problems but i see that was one of a few weekends that was skipped on here...

Is there an outside temp where they will no longer run Dragster at? Does anyone know if it will be running 10/6?

I think the hot weather effects the ride more than cold weather. If it isn't down (doesn't appear to be at this time) the ride will be open.

I'm not worried about Dragster not running tomorrow dispite the forcasted mid to low 50 degree temps. Like Craig said, hot days effect it more than cold days.

But I sure cant wait to get back on Dragster after 4 weeks of no trip. Just remember to bundle up coasterdad.:)

low 50? Wow! Its still hittin the 90's everyday where I'm at! Ohio was the first place I've ever been where I could wear a sweater during the day in june, july and august...

^I guess you don't go north that often.

I won't be there until Sunday afternoon, and it's supposed to be warmer by then. Maybe you'll get another rollback Adam :)
